Hey guys, so I heard a rumor that seymour is getting new chairs in 2014. If this is true, this is great, great news. I like seymour and it has a great park, but the chairs are just too slow and are only 2 seaters. If you know anything about this rumour, please reply to this!!!

Yea my brother came home yapping about something like that, wouldn't really surprise me b/c of the new upgrades.

The question is if I really want new chairs, i'v gotten attached

There have been rumors of this going around for a long time. I no longer work there so i can't confirm if it is actually true now, not to mention their PR department is a joke so you wont even know for sure until its actually a reality. They have scouted a new lift line from the bottom of lodge to the top of mystery, kind of following unicorn; however, realistically i hope it doesnt happen. There is not enough parking, facilities, or room on the runs to accommodate any increase in capacity. Not to mention the pow would get tracked out way faster. Slow chairs keep the tourists out.....locals only.
 
yes exactly. At grouse u get all these tourists just cruzin down the cut that makes the line huge. Seymour theres almost no tourists.
 
yea more/faster chairs isnt always better, it just means more people on the hill at once.

i heard a rumour of w/b moving crystal chair from blackcomb and putting over near million dollar ridge on whistler and then putting in a high speed quad where crystal is...like i said just a rumour, but if it actually happens im gunna be pissed
 
Yah I heard rumer that they wher gona put a quad in crystals place that went all the way to the top of the chimney
 
heard from an employee that a quads going in for sure. they are just waiting on surveying and everything, but they've got the package all picked out so as soon as they get the go ahead its ready to go in. replacing mystery.
 
wow fuck that...only thing i like is the more direct gondola, but the alpine is gunna get shreded to shit so fast, especially with that tram to hortsman

is there a master plan map like that for whistler anywhere?
 
The master plan is out 25 years, none of those lifts are happening in the near future except Crystal. Crystal will be replaced with a quad. The bottom station will be below Glacier road where Cancer man ends (that run was cut for a lift) and the top terminal will be where the current lift ends, not in the Grey Zone (due to wind).

The "new" Crystal chair will be Harmony, and Harmony will be replaced with a 6 pack.

The Whistler master plan has all sorts of dumb shit like a lift up Robertsons to Harmony ridge... they eventually want to build out a Cheakmus lake base area with chairs going up through Khyber.

The real problem is none of these chairs (other than Cheakamus base/Khyber) add new terrain, so shit will just get shredded even faster. 6 pack on Harmony for example, 50% more uphill capacity... although if you know where/how to ski I guess you just get your pow laps in faster and call it a day while gapers continue to flounder down the middle.
