MT. Hood Public park??

does anyone know if the public park at mt. hood will be open this year? i heard rumors that they may not open it this summer
 
I have had days up there in July that seemed like it was in January, It can be cold occasionally, but for the most part, it is really warm

why are there not just tons of pros coming out of hood when you can ski all year round and just have a big advantage over everyone?
 
ya but you need money....some of us broke skiers dont have the privilege to ski all year round or go to windells even though we live close to hood
 
I read this years ago in the greatest ski publication, Freeze, "It can be hotter than two rats humping in a wool sock, or colder that a witch's tit." It could not be a more true statement
 
im i Hood right now. i can tell you public park is deff open and wayyyy sick! nothing much bigger then like 40ft for jumps but there sooo fun and 5 in a row!!!
 
Seems like a lot of people that are that talented are spending their summers in whistler or hood anyway, so not that much of an advantage over local kids.

Another thing to note is, while the normal ski season runs late and the pass as affordable, once summer rolls around, pass prices are way expensive. I think upwards of $900 or so just for the summer. I know I cannot afford to buy a pass in the summer and I think that is true for a lot of local kids, so it isn't like most people can afford to be up there 5 days a week all summer, though it would be nice.

Quit whining lol, if I even had a ski resort open at this time of the year in my own fucking country I'd die just to get one day of skiing there. even though it's far from home
 
EXACTLY, i could only afford windels once a few years ago, it would be so much fun to go again now that ive progressed, but it costs so much money i might as well use the public park and buy a couple new pairs of skis. haha
 
You don't have to ski Windells. And seriously? If you kids seriously love skiing enough you can work your ass off and earn it. Your only broke until you sack the fuck up and get some sort of income. I started off with nothing, but I have been working my ass off for it, now Im leaving Sunday to go to Hood for a month.
 
i wish i lived in the US :( your park are so fucking big n perfect ! Norways biggest park has like 4 (big)jumps 8 rails and 1 crappy pipe.

I think you need to chill a little... I don't see it as a claim at all. More of a motivational example of what he did to get himself able to ski. He isn't stating he's rich, he said he was broke, then got a job, worked his ass off, and the reward is being able to ski.
He's stoked that he can go, because it's all his own hard work that's letting him go. You say not everyone has jobs. Very true. So why not go get one if you're broke, then be able to pay for camp or skiing? It's not hard to find a job, or work your ass off. I did this myself last season and it was extremely rewarding. Just get off your ass and work for it if you want it so bad. That's the message I got, not some gloating claimfest that you seem to think it is...

we definitly stalked hardcore, Big Spence and I got on a chair behind this guy in a blue jacket, we soon found that guy to be TAAAD WAAAALNUTZ
