Mt Hood or Whistler Blackcomb?

so basically, i was planning a trip to Mt Hood to ride the windless park, until i found out the insane prices :o so now i cant decide between hood and whistler, and im hoping someone can help me out here.Im pretty much a half and half skier, i love the backcountry and the park equally, so whichever one has the best of both would be ideal.

Thanks in advance,

Depending on where you live (I'm assuming if you live in the US) it would probably be less expensive to go to Mt. Hood simply because of flights and stuff.

But I've also heard that Hood can be very cloudy and foggy and shitty mid winter.

well whistler has everything you are looking for and more, but you run into the same problem with cost. whistler is one of the most expensive places in north america.

You should probably post when you are doing this.

Are you looking into camps? Windells is spendy, but youre paying for an experience. Tickets prices are going to be cheaper at Hood, hands down. Our weather is always shitty..

If you are of age, Whistler has an amazing night life and again, its an experience. Be prepared to drop coin on everything there though. Its not a budget resort.

this, windells doesn't have a park in the winter, but if you think Hood is too expensive then you obviously haven't looked at whistler

dont come to hood, its an absolute joke right now, we need snow and better weather.. im not even going skiing this weekend, its shit

Whistler is where its at! its pricy but everything there is worth it. Accommodations are world class, great restraunts, skiing is the best you will get anywhere, Parks up there are awesome too everything is always perfect and very well maintained.

whistlers terrain blows Hood's out the water. its not really close at all. and yes i am including meadows, and ski bowl in the comparison.

T-line has good parks, but whistler-blackcomb have like 10 different parks of all sizes.

also, the village at whistler is super fun if you are 19 or over, or have a parent willing to buy you great food.

whistler blackcomb is arguably the best ski mountain in the world. MT. Hood, although it does have a legit summer camp, and good terrain, does is not at the same level. If i could ski one mountain the rest of my life it would be blackcomb, hands down. it is just so fucking sick

Summer time (July-August), Mt Hood hands down. Public park is usually pretty good (better burn some pineapples and pray for snow though). Camping is free and fun.

Winter time: avoid Mt Hood. It is flat (save for ski bowl and a couple areas at Meadows) and usually socked in. Whistler is one of the best resorts in the world. No contest.

oooo i would actually argue that from an all around standpoint, considering park, average snowfall, inbounds terrain, backcountry access, family orientation, groomers, as well as accom and nightlife, whistler is the best in the world.

white pass Washington. well priced, quality snow and lots of terrain.. unless you ride park. atleast right now.

chamonix has bigger burlier mountains, breck and key has better parks, utah has lighter snow, baker gets slightly more snow...but there just isnt anywhere else that has everything that whistler has to offer all in one place

shitty mid winter fersure. i was there the day after christmas and it pissed fucking rain for 2 days straight. then dumped like 2-3 feet. guess you gotta take the good with the bad.

but if money isnt really an issue, i would go to Whistler during the winter. but hood in the summer hands down

was stoked to skip school and ski from 9-9 today. It sucked. i got 2 great days in this weekend but still FUCK! its not gonna be good for a while

same. well i go every march for my moms birthday. take 1 or 2 runs with her and my dad and then go explore the rest of the mountain 3 years and still have yet to ski everything
