Mt Hood Conditions right now

Going to be in Portland on business next few days. Was going to try to get a morning skiing in at Timberline Friday. How's coverage up at Palmer. I don't ski park, so not worried.

Mainly seeing if I can get a few hours of laps in on Palmer or if I should just skin up from parking lot and enjoy a route of my choice down from however far I want to climb.

Palmer is great right now, I'd say send it, you can't ski all the way to the parking lot anymore but its still pretty close. I know of plenty of people who have hiked to Palmer in the last few weeks, but some have gotten caught. I cant speak to the best strategy because I don't know it, but I'm sure someone could help you. But if you can afford a ticket, that's they easiest way for sure.

Right on man. Thanks. I'll just bring the skins and make a call when I get there.

Lows are supposed to be in the 40s all week so probably be about as good as it will get. $68 just to lap Palmer is why I've avoided it all summer though. Haven't slid on snow at all in a couple weeks though so it is getting more tempting. Wind blew away the smoky haze yesterday and Mt. Hood looked pretty snowy.

It's been a long time since I could get stoked on Palmer...Especially for 68 bucks. I'd rather go shoot people.

Palmer is one of my favorite places so I can get stoked up there pretty easily. Some of the best moments ever have been on or near the Palmer snowfield. But I like to be able to rip all the way from the chair to white river canyon and back and jump from lane to lane. October to June when my pass is good I'll pick ripping Palmer over most anything else. I'm not stoked on other people or the idea of it being roped into tiny lanes but I'd rather that than go shoot because how much ammo can you buy for $68 anyways?

Conditions are IRIE, Ski boss just rolled in.

I walked into our office the other day and was so taken back because it REEKED of, ya know. But there was a handful of people there that I didn't know so I wasn't gonna be that guy.

About 5 minutes later, I heard a familiar voice and I look back to the couch area and lo and behold its tanner freakin hall. I instantly felt bad for having a mild internal freak out. Now I feel honored to have smelled the smell.

Come on Mingg. Tell us what Tanner Hall smells like. Does he really smell like licorice or what?

Don't ever be that guy. You smell cannabis, why does this need to be amplified to everyone in your vicinity? It probably means that someone smoked cannabis and doesn't need someone screaming about it and brining unwanted attention. It's not a big deal

Given the situation, it was a little bit different. But yeah, nah usually it's not a big deal. It was mostly just really funny haha.

I want to know what Tanner actually smells like not the weed. Someone needs to get in there and get a good whiff and report back. Does he smell like vanilla and leather? Smelly boots and wax? Meyer lemons?

Probably not great, he is basically a wook

I'm talking about Tanner Hall the business man that travels all over the world skiing and doing marketing work etc. I thought a wook is someone with no money or motivation like a beggar.

Was able to get out a get 7-8 laps in Friday morning. Conditions were not bad, softened up by 10am..when I left. No lift lines. I bought a ticket at $68 I think. A little steep. I gave it to some bum looking kid sleeping in his truck in the parking lot on my way out.

My only gripe was breakfast. I was the only person that went in and ordered breakfast that I could see. Only one sitting in their cafeteria area. I just got a breakfast bagel and coffee, but the quality of food was quite poor. Pretty lame egg/cheese/sausage bagel. Like maybe worst I have ever had anywhere....

Bummer about the food. In general the prices go up and the quality goes down the higher up the Mountain you go.

They have a pretty good breakfast sandwich at Joe's in Sandy the croissant has ham sausage and bacon with melty American for like $3.

Glad you got some good laps in though.

Tanner Hall is a business man that travels all over the world doing marketing? What?!?

He is more of a dread headed wook that lives in Tahoe and chills with the Green Bandit Production Gremlinz crew and sometimes drives a van around the country in search of pow.

And I really like and respect Tanner, so I don't mean to use the word "wook" in a bad way. But look at his dirty dreads and chipped tooth and lifestyle... dude is pretty wooked out
