ok so im heading out to UBC for school next year and havent yet decided on where im gonna ski. Obviously my top two choices are baker and whistler. both are about 2 hours from campus. i was just wondering if any locals know of a good mountain closer by, or if whistler is too touristy compared to baker.
Also looking for backcountry info anywhere around that area. Thanks

You could do even better and ski any of the 3 shore mountains (Cypress, Grouse and Seymour) which are only about an hour away, and are also open for night skiing. And get real, UBC to Whis is two hours if you have no traffic and are pinning it. You are looking more like 2.5-3 hours. And is this a real question? If you want pow and no lines go to baker, if you want really sick park and not as much pow, but some serious line-up problems ski whistler. Also if you want to ski baker have fun crossing the border every time you want to go skiing.

Both are amazing for different reasons. Just ski them both as much as possible.

Annnnnd...... HI NICK!

get a whistler season pass and a seymour season pass...combined that's only like 700 bucks. and if you want to go to baker, just buy day tickets.
