Mt. Bachelor Fast Pass Petition

Someone started a petition for the Mt. Bachelor Fast Pass to be taken away. Sign it. This is horrible for the sport of skiing, as well as the locals who already spend $1,000 on a pass and wait in ridiculous lines.

If you haven't heard, this is a "Fast Pass" that anyone can pay $50 to skip the lines all day. Sounds more like an amusement park amenity than something that should be at a ski resort to me.

What are your thoughts?

They already responded saying if you don't like it, get a refund on your season pass

You don’t think if 50,000 people signed it that might make corporate look at changing it?

Or will it take people packing the line on busy weekends to get the tourists mad enough to complain about wasting their money on the line?

Signing a petition and actually cancelling your season pass are two very different things

Yep, very few people will put their money where their mouth is.

It can't hurt to sign a petition, but you have too much good faith in a corporation. Corporations exist to make money, not to preserve the sanctity of skiing. If 50,000 people sign a petition but continue to spend money at bachelor, they'll be laughing all the way to the bank. Powdr is betting that the money earned from fast passes will far exceed the money lost from refunded passes, and I'm sure they've already done the math. Until that equation shifts in the other direction, nothing will change.

It sucks but that's what it is

Yeah, it is what it is but it's worth a shot! If enough people get upset and refund then they'd get rid of it. I'm going to see what happens and if they don't cancel it right before the season then I'll consider refunding the pass. Just sucks because I love this mountain and how close it is to my house.

Time will tell!

RIP hoodoo being empty if bachelor keeps on the path of constantly fucking up like they have the past few years. Seems like it’s actually getting significantly busier at the doo. Good for the hoodoo owners tho
