Msu playa's...whos gettin passes to where?

mines still unknown at this point, until i find out the fate of ambush park. if ambush stays, im for sure going big sky, if not... idk.
 
I'll be at Bridger again. I usually get the Jackson 6-day pass as well, but I don't think I want to pay $300 for it this year...I will probably head down there for 2-3 days and then just ski a lot of backcountry when I'm not at Bridger.
 
holy shit its 300 bucks for a 6 day pass at jackson!?!?!?! how much is their season pass!?
 
$1,675 for a season pass if you order now, and $299 for the college six-day. Remember two years ago when they were $160? I had to get refunds on mine the past two seasons because I keep having to sit the season out, and now it isn't really worth it for me.
 
Undecided. The debate for me is between Big Sky and Bridger; Bridger might be winning by a little bit.
 
im do torn...im leaning towards big sky cause there is lots of stuff to do...because its just a bigger mountain...but what is there to do at brigder when there is no pow?
 
Bridger because thats my mountain. But i'm also getting a frequent sky card to Big Sky. I'll give Great Divide some love when I head home for breaks from MSU.
 
bridger is not cheap by any means dude.. its definitely over-priced on my opinion.. passes for big mountain, my hometown, are cheaper than bridger and that mountain has way more terrain and variety and should definitely cost more money than skiing bridger. bridger is a sick mountain when there's powder, but it gets skied out REAL quick for the most part and it sucks balls when there isnt new snow. i would say get a pass to big sky even if they don't have ambush, because the mini park will still be way better than bridger's and it's actually fun to ski when there isnt new snow. plus you can find stashes of pow there from dumps that happened 5 days earlier.
 
I will try to convince me madre since a pass to my local mountain is usually like 450 so maybe I can offer to pay the difference.
 
sorry man, but this makes me sad. Of course Bridger costs more. WhiteFish Mountain Resort is so lame they changed their name, its pretty easy to sell cheaper passes when you sell your soul for condos and a new name. Bridger has to charge what they do because they are core. Not many community ski areas put lifts like The Slush in.

I have no beef with WhiteFish Mountain resort, but it is Colorado compared to Bridger...and I left that shit ten years ago for a reason. If you truly think chi-chi shops and new lodge/bases are what makes a resort cool, then WhiteFish is your spot. But at that rate don't sell yourself short, move to vail!
 
$545 to $750, if your in college. Over 17 not in college, Bridger $545 and Big Sky $1375, WOW!!!!

 
they changed their name becauase they got a new owner who put billions of dollars into the mountain and because they needed money.. the mountain is about 3 times as big as bridger and significantly better,and still definitely has a local feel so i'm just saying that bridger is a rip off, whether it is "core" (gayest fucking word) or not man.

people always say that kids at big sky have an attitude problem when really bridger is a lot worse in my opinion. all the bridger yuppies like yourself who think they are "core" and better than everyone else because of it fuckin piss me off.
 
truth. idk how many times i got dirty looks just because i wasnt munching granola and wearing arcteryx. bridger is sick, but i get kinda tired of some of the locals there.
 
I kind of grasp what you guys are getting at, but I haven't experienced any real attitude problems at Bridger--maybe just because I am a familiar face. However, I have had "locals" at Big Sky literally throw their skis on top of mine to click in in front of me, just because it was "their" mountain. Also, the crowd at the Big Sky park about 5-7 years ago was a significant factor in me quitting park skiing.

Each place has its merits, but I have found the vast majority of the new people around here are looking for a terrain park and easy-access, easy to read terrain, so they end up congregating at Big Sky. I could write a novel about each every time someone asks this question each spring (summer, fall, or winter) but I usually just send everyone up the canyon instead.
 
and i suppose a lot of that is personal experience. ive never met any douches in the park, and honestly the main people with attitudes on the mountain are the gapers there for the weekend from cali. sure you dont get those at bridger, but its not locals treating you like shit at least, its people who treat everyone like shit.
 
I have never had any attitude problems anywhere in MT, but to think that Bridger has some is wild??? You must not have skied many places. I am no yuppie, and I hate granola, your an idiot. Core is pretty lame, but not as lame as "gayest".
Make all the excuses you want about the name change but it is still the "gayest fucking" thing I could think of doing in that situation. And he did not put in billions, you are an idiot.
 
dude. if you dont think that people at bridger have those atitutdes you need to fucking open your eyes. and yeah man i'm a big mountain local, you think i was happy about the name change? but seriously you just need to realize that its just a name. its still the same mountain.. and obviously foley himself didn't put billions of dollars into the mountain, but since he has been running it its has had billions of dollars come in and he has actually made some improvements and has great plans for the future, even though there have been a couple more condos and mansions built. believe me, i'm not happy about foley buying out half the town of whitefish and our ski resort, but you just gotta get that stick out of your ass and fucking deal with it because it is a GREAT fucking mountain.
 
Word. I would have to say I've noticed way more attitude at Big Sky than Bridger. I dont live in Bozeman and Im not a local to either mountain so I think I a little un biased here. Last winter I skied Bridger 3 times and Big Sky 4 times, the season before that I skied each of them twice. Obviously I havent skied either place very often but I have yet to notice any attitude coming from people skiing Bridger or park rats at Big Sky.

The only time I really got any attitude at either place was all from Big Sky. The main problem Ive noticed are the rich gapers, the people lapping the tram and rocking the "I can see your Tetons from Big SKy" or whatever the fuck it says sticker and the damn racers. Obviously every mountain is going to have its douches but Ive noticed it more at Big Sky.

Bottom line they are both good mountains that are very different and most of the people are chill. I can't believe that people get so furious and passionate about trying to convince each other which mountain is better, youre beating a dead horse. Personally I would go to Bridger over Big Sky but I dont spend much time in the park.
 
There is an access gate for people skiing the summit snow field near the top of Lone Tree that I think you can exit. However, I would highly recommend familiarizing yourself with the area and snowpack before going out there, because the snow in the Gallatins (and the rest of the rockies) is pretty temperamental. Also check out Beehive Basin, but again, make sure it's with someone who knows the area. Are you looking to build jumps or go make turns?
 
after living here my whole life i have skied bs, moonlight and bridger all a ton.. i see goods and bads in all of them. so now this year i really cant decide where to get a pass. i like to change it up and ski bridger during the week cause its close and bs or moonlight on the weekend.. but im not sure what one im gonna choose this year..
