WTF is this? I'm not paying $50 just to listen to interviews about how *stoked* Michele Parker is in Alaska. Everyone boycott MSP.

It’s San Fran. $50 gets you medium coffee and bagel there. This sounds like a steal

i mean, a (VERY) generous way to look at it is to compare it to a hollywood movie. i could go see a blockbuster in 3d IMAX 2 or 3 times for that price....craziness

It’s weird to think about how I’ll most likely never pay to watch skiing content ever again.

It shows how the internet completely changed the game when it comes time to skiing content. Nonames are coming out with better, more original content and series that I find myself binge watching Erie Indians and Travelling Circus than buying a full MSP movie.

I look at my DVD collection and only watch the stuff before 2005.

Hey Nick! Good to see you're still here. I got tired of r/skiing on reddit so I'm back :)

I'm trying to remember how long ago we met/the circumstances! I'm getting ankle surgery, so I'll be back in the Bay recovering for a bit this fall.

oh come on... a steal? OP is right to post about this... obviously it might not be MSP's 'fault' - im sure they're not pricing it out of greed but it certainly says something about the state of the ski movie sub-industry

It's a fundraiser for Keep Tahoe Blue from what I understand. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a show for ski bums.

$50 for a fundraiser with free drinks sound pretty normal. How many drinks do you get?

Theater rental cost is the biggest driver for how much each person pays for a ticket. It's not like MSP walks away with your entire $50. I'm willing to bet at least $40 of that goes towards costs of running that premiere (theater rental, insurance, crew travel to SF, etc.).

The TGR premiere is only $16. I don't buy it.

I don't have access to their finance sheets but looking at their SF tour stop details it looks like TGR is actually $20, they're at different venues, there's free booze at MSP, and it sounds like MSP is trying to raise money for a fundraiser.

Apple and oranges.

Don't remember how much it was last year but there was unlimited free food and alcohol pre movie. Not that bad of a deal honestly
