MSP - AK Shoot

Well yes I was thinking you were him and I didn't think he'd be quite that offending because he is a really nice guy. As for your opinion on MSP, well keep having whatever opinion you would like to have. I would have to disagree with you drastically, but whatever though, because opinions are like assholes, everyone's got'em and they all stink.

Haha so much ownage went down in this thread. Skiierman, youre a waste of life. D Brown, youre a d bag. Fuck you both. How can you not see that matchstick had the best ski movie last year? Such hate.

i think for a couple reasons

1- they get a sick jump built for them

2- i bet the mtn hooks them up like crazy for having a 10 minute segment in their movie of just their mtn

3- everyone seems to go to AK for massive mtns and its cool to see a big jump in AK. Just something different I guess

waaaaa get all mad because he said he liked the older movie's fun hijinks. then back peddle "oo i have an opinion too it's like an asshole. " and even if your buddy dan said that don't act like you saved his life by hooking him up on a guest list.

nothing better than professional "athletes" taking shit seriously on newschoolers.

as for MSP, they've consistently been producing movies that are fun to watch once. just like PBP, too long, not enough.

Matchstick Productions have put put some of my favorite movies consistently every year, from The Hit List to The Way I See It (I have not been watching ski moves for extremely long). Their shit is always fun to watch with great lines and killer tricks. I love MSP.

Why not? Did you see the back drop last year? Besides, when you have a good relationship with a place you'd be a fool to not keep the ball rolling. Shit was crazy. Sure the jump seg could have been quite a bit shorter, still banger though.

Personally I'm stoked for the segment, and the movie. Obviously every movie company has a different take on what good skiing is and what makes a good ski movie, but regardless I think that the quality of MSP's filming/cinematography blows the other productions companies out of the water.

and you've completely missed the point... location doesn't and shouldn't matter to the quality of a PARK shoot as well as it having the new trick hotness. MSP used to have different features and didn't have 10 minute long segments dedicated to slow motion shots on the same jump, which they've done since, what? 4 years ago? but hey if your jam is seeing people hit the same basic jump, regardless if it's slightly different in pop or 10ft. different in size, then good on you but i love variety in ski movies, contrary to jacob's generalizations, but they haven't produced that in a long time. the same formula gets BORING after a while.

do agree about the different/more diverse features (not comparing this year and last years) but within each movie. nevertheless in the end "the way i see it" was by far the best movie from last year and was entertaining as hell.
and threads... DRAMAZ

"Have you seen Yearbook, Hitlist, Push, Seven Sunny Days, Claim, In Deep, and The Way I See it?"

"Well we're making the exact same thing, this time with a triple and 2012 gear ZOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The formula for films for the Big Four has been stagnating for a long time, you can't claim that MSP is doing anything else worse than Level, TGR or PBP when it comes to changing things up for the last six years.

The only game changer in a while from bigger producers has been Idea and its spread towards Nimbus. Pléhouse gets an honorable mention for trying new approaches, but suffering from a weaker roster of skiers.

Smaller companies like Stept are trying to redefine certain elements and webisodes are giving crews the ability to put something innovating together and look at the results more than once a year.

Whatever. The big mtn segments of TWISI were amazing. Huge, technical lines, massive airs, and some serious trickery. Petit's on another level.
And if you can't enjoy Kaj's approach of having fun, then, well, I feel sorry for you.

is it difficult to sit with that matchstick constantly shoved up your ass? i've always wondered that if you fart, will it lite?

Trololo, if you would go back and read my comments from Push onwards regarding their movies on this site, you'd see that I've been very critical and haven't liked them too much. The Way I See It had a new spark that has been, in my case, missing for years.

except for the fact that they've made sean petit's seggy seem boring... yearbook was the last good movie. everything after that has been about as original as HS prom pictures. LOL!
