MP3/Minidisc

I wanted to get either an Mp3 or a minidisc player for running, biking, skiing, etc. but i have no clue what to look for. I want something thats got descent memory and battery life and fairly small. I was hoping to spend around 150$ (so no iPODs). Any info or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

 
128 mb in my opnion isn't shit. I like a big verity of music and I like to have it all with me all the time. I LOVE mini disc! they are the shit. is you want, I can answer any ?s you might have about md but I don't really want to type a lot in this post

i got a 3inch disc discman that plays mp3s--the discs hold 210 megs apiece and cost like 90 cents. The thing NEVER skips and i've dropped it a bunch, crashed with it even more, and had my dog try to eat it for dinner and it still works just fine. It's only a little bigger than a small mp3 player, the discs are way cheaper than minidiscs, and it is durable--oh yeah its the phillips/nike discman and i got it for $180 at soundtrack

Id go with minidisc, most likely it will be cheaper depending on the model you choose and more versatile (ie an mp3 player only holds 4hrs of music while a minidisc player is capable of storing 4hrs of music on one disc, so you dont have to go to your computer every time you want to change the songs up).

Things to look for in MD players- usb capability, some sort of fast transfer program (like sony)...uh really thats all you need.

if you want something cheap price wise.. i urge you to check out refurbdepot.com. Bassicly when a company ships things out and say the box is missing a connecting cable or something the store sends it back to the manufacturer and then refurb depot snatches them all up and they can sell them for much less.. i got my 400 dollar mini disc player for 208.. greatest site for electronics ever.

for 150, minidisc is the way to go...but for like 400 rca makes a portable multi-media player (documents, videos, music, and pictures)

gat an ipod they have 30 gig ones now. Thats almost as much as my computer. You could fit a whole year of music on there or the human genome.
