yup...for those of you who give a shit and have been fed by a silver spoon all your life, the drives in ipods toshiba super thin laptop drives. they run as high as 40 gigs i think before they resize. if you hook up the original drive from the ipod to your machine, copy all of it to the hard drive (so you get all informational files, etc.) you can, pop out the old drive, put in the new one, rescan the bus (disk tools), format the drive, and copy the old stuff to the new stuff...you NEED the same company drive though...i think the program runs hardware id check and you might have to do a firmwire hack, but good luck w/that shit. oh and for anyong interested, if you ever need software, take your ipod to your local happy apple dealer (preferably like compusa or something like that), plug in your ipod, and copy away all the files you need. some kid stole 15 grand worth of software from circuit city like 2 months after the ipods came out. can't complain
