Moving to Whistler

Hey guys, I've finally had it with school and I've decided to take the plunge and move to Whistler. I'm going to be up there next week looking for a job and a place to stay, anyone out there who either lives there already and needs another roommate or is looking to move out there and will also be seeking roommates/accomodation?

Your best bet would be to work in your hometown for the summer and when fall rolls around head to Whistler with your savings , buy a pass, and look for a place and a job. The summer isn't exactly peak hiring season in Whistler, although while probably a bit early, it might be a good time to start looking for a place.

Talk to me in a year and maybe we can work something out.

Good luck, it will probably be one of the best decisions you'll ever make.

There are "help wanted" signs all over town now. Now is a way better time to look for a house than fall. The easiest way to do it is to just drive up and check yourself into staff housing. (No, you don't have to be staff to live there right now.) Then go pick up a pique newspaper and start looking in the classifieds. At this time of year there is no rush, so you can take your time looking. It's a lot easier to end up in a basement suite with 12 aussies if you wait until the fall.

haha didn't mean it like that man, her advice was just more in keeping with what I want to do which is move there now, and to be fair I have indeed heard that a lot of places are hiring right now. I also didn't really give enough information I suppose as I'm living in my own apartment in victoria right now which is so financially crippling that living out here for the summer and trying to save money isn't really a viable option.
