Moving to Utah need general advice

This fall I will be going to Westminster college. I am from New Hampshire and I have only visited three times so I am not too familiar with the area. I definitely plan on getting a PC pass because I am a park skier but I also want to get a pass somewhere for powder skiing. (I was thinking alta) Here are two of my basic questions.

1) Is the public transportation to the mountains good or will I need to rely on getting rides from people?

2)Is there a certain mountain that most people ski at because I don't want to buy a pass somewhere and then find out nobody goes there?

Any other info or tips will be appreciated and let me know if you need someone to ski with hah.
 
public transport to pc exists but isn't used much as it leaves the valley really early and there is only 1 run up and 1 down at the end of the day. i would definitely expect to have to find a ride from a friend most days. although, the cottonwood canyons have much better bus systems that run all day so you might be able to get by in that area.

as for a certain mountain, it's all over the place man. lots of my friends have bird passes, i know plenty of people with alta passes, tons of people at brighton (where i'll be getting a pass next year) and also a lot at pc. honestly, wait until you get out here to decide where you want a pass to. you'll have a couple months before you need to buy a pass and that will let you figure out some friend groups, who's skiing where, etc. then make your decision from there.

if you're skimping on cash and want to ski park and pow on one pass, go to brighton. brighton's park is arguably better than pc's depending on time of year (doesn't get slushed out nearly as quickly in spring, longer better rails, but not as good jumps)

yup, if you can afford it go with PC and Alta. hit me up if you wanna ride, or wanna party, not if you wanna study though.
 
If you want the best community and ski vibes, definitely Alta. Brighton is great too, I skied there for 7 years, but last year I changed to Alta and I couldn't be more stoked. Everyone there is an absolute shredder, and patrol will actually encourage you to hit jumps, I've had some instances where they wait to see you hit it or yell "hit it you pussy!" haha, anyways, Utah is full of great resorts but Alta is definitely one of the best. And honestly, I would probably go to Brighton over PC. Not nearly as crowded, better rails, and much better transportation. If you ever need rides or someone to shred with, hit me up. Hope you like it out here!

You want to ski powder and you don't want to ski somewhere nobody is at?
