Moving to the US for 3+ months?

Would I need citizenship to live in the States for 3-5 months coming from Canada? this isn't for now but in the future and i have no idea how and what?

My sister is in the Cali for University. The documents you must have are:your green card, visa (not the credit card I don't think) and passport. Therefore, I don't believe you need citizenship.

i think a visitors visa lasts like 3 months, but depending on why youre going to be here you can get differnt visas. student, work, etc
