Anywhere i shouldnt move too?

Depends on what you're moving for. I live on the border of Lakewood and Golden and i like it a lot. But if you want some serious night life move somewhere downtown, there's always stuff going down in denver.

I mean, move close to where you work/what you want to do

which begets the question: where will you be working and why are you moving to Denver?

moms swappin jobs but sick!

Already a marijuana user and im stoked to try out some real denver bud! it sounds like a dream out there im stoked to come. skiing is going to be tight. with vail breck keystone eldoro*, can you simply find people hitting urban lines in the winter just around?? is it really that chill?!

how are the ladys in denver?!

eh, its not usually that bad. Sunday nights though.... OH GOD... probably should bring a magazine or some calvin and hobbs to read.

The Denver drive is the fucking worst thing. Denver is not "in" the mountains. Make friends with people that live in Vail/Breck/Keystone--live on their sofas, walk their dogs, do their dishes, take their trash out, bring them beer/bud. Ladies are fly and wealthy at Beaver Creek but the terrain is tame and there's not really a village. Vail is swell and there's some babes, but there's a reason the joke is Male Valley, gotta learn to snipe the tourists. Make friends with redcoats or hike up Simba and don't pay for tickets. Or get an epic pass if you can. Keystone is fun too. Depends what sort of terrain you like to ride or if it's all park for you. Lots of good hidden wood jibs/rainbows in the woods around there. Summers are baller, great hiking, awesome weather. Check out Minturn but don't fuck with the locals. But do check out Magustos. Awesome bar that sometimes goes fucking ham wild.

The drive to the mountains is the worst. On a good day it will take 2 hours. Boulder is pretty close to denver, about 30-45 minutes depending on where you live and its a super fun place to chill, lotsof restaurants and shops and stuff.

From denver?!??? thats not true at all.... i can make it up to key or abay in 30 minutes on a good day, bad day hour tops...

This. I live in Centennial and it takes about an hour 20 if i go just 5-ish mph over the limit. However, i usually leave my house at like 5am and eat breakfast in the lot.

OP:

People will still hate on you for smoking. Some people wont change. Get a copy of Westword when you get here to find/research bud. You can get one at any hip restuarant (tokyo joes, wahoos, etc) and some grocery stores.

It is a mile high so get in the habit of hydrating a lot. I know people who have lived here for 10 years and still always need a water bottle with them always

There is so much fun stuff to do here. Dont be afraid to do touristy shit

For park go to summit county, for pow go to wolf creek, for big mountain go to the San Juans, for great vibes go to A Basin, for fancy stuff go to Vail/beaver creek.

Mexican food is soooo go here, not as good as further south, but loads better than what passes for mexican near the missippi.

Sorry if that was jumbled. Im on mobile

On weekdays its a pretty good drive im with you like 45 minutes to a basin but i live in boulder so ive never actually driven from denver but you do get on i70 earlier i guess so it would take less time from there. But to breck and copper its about an hour and a half, the two hours i was talking about was with weekend and holiday traffic my b.

Im so ready to get out to the mountains! iv been skiing since i wasa little kid but never got to the the mountains so its all going to be first time for me! it sounds like everything out there is just a little bit better than MN but all sort of the same? even the mexican munchie food is better what more could i ask for?! hopefully we dont end up moving east side... id like that hour drive to the mountains to be a hlaf hour muchhh better.

denvers cool but its crowded. boulders where its at. and boulders way closer to all the mountains.and if youre lookin for good bud, thats where youll find it

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa

hold on I need to catch my breath from laughing so hard

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

no.

What are you people talking about???

It doesn't take 2 hours to get to Summit and it definitely doesn't take 30 minutes either. It takes 1:15-1:30 to get from most any suburb around Denver to key, breck, a basin, copper, wp. About 1:45 to vail and 2 hours to beaver creek.

Look for housing around Commerce City. It's where the really wealthy people live, but houses are still really expensive. With great entertainment like the Colorado Rapids and drive-by shootings you'll never have a dull night.

i am a little biased because i lived there, but I'm a huge fan of golden. It is it's own town and still easy to get downtown with the metro link completed. There is hiking and biking right from town, free beer 5 days a week in the winter and 7 days a week in the summer. For skiing it is right on 70 so you miss a little bit of that or you can take highway 6 all the way to Idaho springs. If you want to gamble blackhawk is 30 mins away. Not a bad place and rent is no outrageous either

my record from the ward on ramp to parked at keystone is 54 minutes in a 1983 mercedes 300sd. it's doable. I've made that drive almost 800 times now. if it was closed course and no other cars I could run it blind. but yes, 1:15-1:30 is the most accurate estimate.

You gotta get in as close to Colfax as possible. Thats where all the choice babes and party spots are at

NS has such a boner for Calvin and Hobbes, I mean, I love it too ('twas an integral part of mornings as a kid), but there are so many C&H icons on here. It's just a weird coincidence I guess that so many people love freeskiing and Calvin and Hobbes haha

I live two blocks from colfax and I approve this statement.

What the fuck Jesus you can't even get to Idaho springs In 30 minutes. Takes about 1hr 15 to key or Breck and 1:30 to vail. Also traffic blows it took me 2.5 hrs to get home this Sunday.

please just stay away from colorado. there is already and overload of you shitfuck easterners who show up and don't fucking get it. you have all already reuined Denver and summit county with your fukin shiesty city antics and stupidity.

I remember when I could go to Denver and Summit without waiting in hours and hours of traffic and lift lines, before you shiesty fucks jacked up prices and ruined skiing.

STAY THE FUCK OUT

five points is the most upward trending real estate market in the central denver area.. if you were trying to be sarcastic you failed.

i live a block off of colfax, good times. cap hill is where its at, tons of younger kids, and its downtown, girls in denver are non existent, and i-70 blows.

This. I'd rather be 10 minutes from Spirit Mountain than deal with I-70 traffic and be at least 2 hours away from skiing. I hate Denver, although that's not really saying much since I hate big cities in general.

Dude shut up. There would be no fucking resorts in Colorado if it wasnt for tourist you ignorant peice of shit. You type of people are what ruin Colorado. Just because your from Colorado doesn't mean your better than anyone else that goes there. Holy shit I can't stand people like you. I would rather deal with Mormons in fucking Utah than to have to deal with stupid morons that think they are better than you cause they're from Colorado. Go away and GET THE FUCK OUT.

You suck and king of the hill sucks.

From Minesota^

I'm from New York and I live in a kinda remote part of the state. I understand the typical local mentality, but at the end of the day they are just being stuck up. Yeah Colorado has weed and skiing (mostly weed). Stop bitching about all the newbies and take their money. It's not like we are gonna leave anytime soon.

So you don't like people coming in and keeping your resorts open? People like you ruin ski towns in general. You do know that most ski resorts get majority of their income from non season pass holders right? That's means tourists since you seem pretty ignorant already.

I mentioned going down Colfax to a coworker here in South Dakota and he told me a crazy story about doing heroin there then sitting in his car that was on the street for a day and a half listening to every live led zepplin track he could find. I swear you meet the weirdest people working in restaurants

did I ever mention Anthony Bourdain is my idol?

and to the guy above, squire lounge tonight, dirty and full of homeless people and ugly fat women past their prime, but the liquors cheap and the shuffleboard free

This post is hilarious because you reference Summit CO like it is a good place to ski and doesn't suck.

He's a midwesterner too people from Minnesota aren't easterners. (Colorado mountains get all the people from the midwest since none go to the places other transplants do like Utah/Mammoth/Tahoe/JH.)

All Summit has is park. And it has the best parks in the world because its 10x more popular of a destination spot for gaper ass tourists THAN ANYWHERE ELSE and henceforth there is money to spend on shit like that to make a lame ass flat as a pancake embarrassing group of overrated mountains acceptable to many who live there for the culture as much as the skiing.

You are a bitch just accept it and try and stop hating.

Colorado is a really chill state. Enjoy the move.
