Moving to Banff

It has always been a dream of mine to take the winter after graduating and go out west to ski. After looking at many mountains/resorts, i have decided on moving to banff. (You can fly right to the resort, good hostels, and employment), I was just wondering if any of you guys have done something similiar and what is the low down on employment, food, housing, etc.?

i personally havent seen any commercial airlines land in bow valley, but u can try... go for it tons of goos sking spots round there

Everything is pretty pricey if you stay in banff. If your plannig to work at a hill (like sunshine) try to get a room up on the hill. Where are you planning to work, if at all?

i was planning to go to louise, and no i'm not saying i can land directly at the resort (bad choice of words). yea things are pricy, but the 7 mountain lift tickets and cheap staff housing combined with 40% of food. i was just wondering if anyone has specific places to stay or information i could google.

Work for Lake Louise. Also, basically all the hotels and stores and whatnot in the town itself have staff accom.

signatures are for pussies

well, i know 4 other people from my town that moved to louise, i have also worked at 2 resorts out east. i'm not looking for anything glorious, nighttime janitor and sharing a room with 3 others would be fine for me.

my bad, i never thought about lifty. that would be sweet.

roles royce is a car to be driven in, bently is a car to be driven by.

no dood, work at sunshine and live in town. don't live up at the hill, cause the gondola closes at a certain time, kinda limits your partying and such to a minimum just cause you can't get out unless you have an aaranged place to stay in town. otherwise it can be quite cheap to live in town, you buy groceries on tuesday cause it's cheap day, everything goes on sale, and you go to the bar monday and thursday and saturdays cause that's when the deals are at the bars, once you become an established local you'll know what i'm talkin about, but seriously you go to a restaraunt, say i need a job, i garauntee you'll be hired on the spot, you talk to a guy you work with that day, say you're new, there ya go a new roommate and eventually you get your own pad, it's surprisingly unexpensive to live in town

GO FLAMES!!

sunshine usually hires people from new zealand. why?, i don't know.

i worked as a lifty at the lake last season. its a super chill place. but you dont make alot of money. you totally need to be there for the skiing and not the money. the town is small. but everyone parties in banff all the time. or you can live in the staff accom. in banff. although it is more expensive and you have a 40 min bus ride to and from work.. u should live in louise.

I love big dumps.

its all about the big mountain.
