Moving to australia

hey!

so I found myself an awesome kick ass aussie girl.

anyways she moved back to australia and I wanna move down there with her at the end of our winter so like april - june but its lookin more like june because of funds. Ill be living in brisbane. not much skiing around there is there?

Ive got a two checked bag limit and I want to take my skis with me, Ive got a pair of lizzies and a pair of anthems but Im willing to part with the lizzies if I have to

now ive been lookin on google.com.au and I was wondering if Id be able to find line skis down there? if it would be easier for me to sell my skis before I leave and buy new ones when I get there then I will. so Ill have more space to bring my regular stuff with me.
 
ok basically in brisbane you have to surf, cause theres nooo snow ever, trust me ive lived there for hmm...my entire life haha.

your basically gonna have a hard time finding anything because theres maybe 3/4/5 ski/snowboard shops in brisbane and they cater for a large range but only have smallish stock. im pretty sure theres no shops that stock line and maybe 1 that stocks armada...theres really not much stock in for freeskiers its more the gapers and their families who want to go on their "big winter wonderland adventure" down south. youd basically have to order in the line's from overseas or something.

oh and its basically a society where skiers cant do shit and snowboards kick ass...theyve all got no clue. so basically your in a place with heat and no snow ever and you have to travel down south for any snow. the woes of being a brisbane skier.

if you have the lizzies for powder then i wouldnt worry about bringing those. also all the snow is down south new south wales, or the good stuff is down in vic. also lines will be hard to get your fingers on
 
yeah I do plan on heading down south a couple times a season for a week just to get my fix. maybe go to NZ if I can, but yeah Ill surf if I have to I guess. at least there's hockey rinks in brisbane Ill get to be in a giant freezer. so I guess Ill sell my lizzies and just bring my anthems then. hoepfully it wont be to much of a pain.

no probs man. the ice skating rink gets really watery after a season and bring your own skates cause theres not many to choose from...the same as skis really.
 
mate youll be hard pressed to find lines in aus. i found a shop in melb which had a couple of pairs. heard rumors of a shop in buller and maybe one in jindabine, youde be best off importing a few pairs coz they arnt exactly cheap. but living in brisvegas? fuck that if you wanna ski my friend! lookin at 10+ hour drive ide say to thredbo/perisher. if i were you ide come do the season at falls or hotham coz they mad places to be... then go hit brissy for our summer! and my advice, stay away from xxxx. carlton dry is the way to go. that information should set you up for a mad time.

K2 do import line here, so it's easy to special order and get your hands on some
