Movin to co (give me the low-down)

yea i'm moving to co next year most likely, aurora area. I'm gonna be a senior next year and so far my parents are going to enroll me at grandview high school or something. So my questions are anyone live in the aurora. Anyone go to grandview. How close is the skiing? Anything else you guys could tell me would be great. thanks!
 
o yea i forgot to mention i'm really into music, i'm currently in a band. we play hard rock. how is the music scene in co?
 
i live in aurora. i go to regis high like 1mile down the road from gview. lovelands about 1hour away, keystone 1hour 15-30, breck 1hour 30, vail 145-2 hours. aurora kinda sucks though, nothing really to do out here. anymore questions about the craphole known as aurora you can ask me. co as a whole is sick though, im sure you'll love it
 
thanks a lot man +k. i haven't really looked into schools too much yet. How's Regis compared to grandview. I'm coming from like a highschool of 300 and i heard that Grandview is like 2800 or something so that will be a huge change. Btw i live in wisconsin so it can't be worse than that seeing as my hill is like 40 minutes away and only like 600ft. vertical plus there isn't shit to do in wisco either.
 
grandviews pretty much the biggest school in the denver metro area except for cherry creek. regis has about 1500 kids and its private. but we still tend to dominate gview in every sport
 
haha. i go to a private school right now. what kind of private school is it? Do you play any sports at Regis? I play basketball, lacrosse, and run track. My school is really chill though, the kind of school were the teachers are actually cool. We don't have a teacher over 30. Is Regis pretty laid back or is it stricter?
 
regis is jesuit/catholic. there's two separate campuses, one for boys and one for girls. I just play baseball at regis. and regis is way laid back and tons of fun. there's a few other ns'ers that go to regis here and i guarantee you that they will all say they love it at regis. don't let the sperarate boys and girls campuses scare you, it's so much more fun without annoying girls in class all day.
 
Thats sick. I go to Smoky Hill which is pretty much Gviews rival and is really close to your school. Aurora is an alright town but isnt to far away fromskiing,. hit me up if you wanna ride next year.
 
If your really into track then you should come to Smoky, except track and lacrosse are in the same season here. Gview sucks at Lax and track but there decent in Bball. As for Regis it kinda has a rep around Aurora that a bunch of assholes go there, at least the kids I know, its also kinda expensive and most kids there end up paying more for highschool than they do for college.
 
Not really true...the got the best sports school in CO last year...won state in Football, Volleyball, and wrestling I think, then they made the playoffs in every single sport...saying this I go to smoky and I really don't like a lot of people that go to Grandview, there are some chill kids but...a lot of punks too.

As far as music in Aurora, it is pretty weak, and Gview has it the worse than Smoky. Our battle of the bands is always pretty fun, and there are a few decent highschool bands here you may be able to play with after you move. If you sing in your band, and want to get better at singing, then for sure come to Smoky because our Choir is the best in the State. Search Smoky Hill High School Symphonic Choir on Youtube to see them...

All the Cherry Creek schools are decent and we passed our millevy(sp) so we are getting a ton more money. I think Smoky is putting in a new pool, revamping our auditorium, and maybe a stadium...

The worst thing about Smoky, Eaglecrest and Cherokee is the girls there really aren't hot. I don't know about Regis or any of the other schools, but in Cherry Creek, there aren't many hot girls outside of Creek and Gview.

Skiing isn't too far of a drive, but it isn't like it is really close either. But compared to what you have in the midwest it will be really good.
 
c'mon, this year alone we got 2nd in state for soccer, won swimming state, won girls and guys basketball, and we've won state in hockey back to back now. only sport we're bad at is football and no one cares about football at rj. and to the rep about that regis kids are assholes is completely not true. sure every school has its assholes, but regis is so much more different than its portrayed its ridiculous.
 
Yeah, but there is also Track, Swimming (your good at boys though I think) LAX, Field Hockey, Tennis, CC, Wrestling. Saying you beat them in everything is a bit much...Most definitely not everyone at Regis are pricks, but I couldn't handle going to a catholic school...
 
our boys swimming is 2nd in nation and we've won state 14 years in a row. we've finished final 4 in lax for the past 3 years, we suck at track, there is no field hockey team, our wrestlings ok, saying everything was still an overstatement though. you hardly could tell regis is catholic, we have school mass maybe 5 times a year and there is prayer every morning, really is no big deal
 
Yea its just an assumption because the kids I know, not to drop any names (Matt Rose, Tj Ort, Mason Conard), all fags.. but otherwise Im sure they are chill kids there. I actually know a few like Jimmy Eazer(sp). Luke Kinary is kinda gay but is also chill sometimes. Sports wise though, RJ is good because they can recruit were as public schools cant. thats why you guys are good.

thanks for all of the info guys. right i'm liking smoky hill and regis, not diggin gview to much. I'll be moving to aurora in july so i'm definitely going try and get in a band right away. what do you guys do in aurora in the summer for fun? btw b-rent thanks for the offer for rides to the hill i could use a way to get to the hill because i have no knowlege of the roads in co and it would be nice to have some people ski with.
 
There is more than that...but, what instrument do you play? Because I know of a band who may be looking for a lead singer/guitarist, only problem is there drummer got into berklee, so he is leaving in the fall to go out to Boston, but I know a few bands at Smoky you can check out, and they all know eachother so they know who needs who.
 
I play guitar and sing in my current band. What type of bands are they? What else is there to do in Aurora? I like fly fishing so i can do that a ton in CO.
 
There is nothing special about Aurora. Imagine an activity you'd be able to do in any suburb in America, you might be able to do it in Aurora. It's just a city full of people who are too worthless to live anywhere better. Move there, make some friends and hang out till you graduate.
 
A few like hard rock bands, but it looks like the band I was thinking of are all seniors and are all getting out of here. In Aurora there isn't anything to do, just hang out with people and such. Wherever you go to school, there will be a few legit skiers, and people in bands, so you can make friends and then just chill.
 
all i got to say is go to Smoky Hill its the school that has the best rep Oh and def don't go to GrandWHO?(inside joke for smoky hill students)highly recommend not going to rejis you prob wouldn't have as good of a chance at fitting in there as you would at Smoky and also strait busted girls at rejis at least the one i've seen. i could assure you a good time at Smoky plus you already know three people on ns that go there.
