Movie editors?

Right now I am using windows movie maker, and it isn’t very good, does anyone no what a good movie editor is? Something that isn’t very expensive...
 
legally speaking... there are many options, none of which I would say are 'good' but definitely way better then movie maker.

That said, the best you can do on windows is probably Adobe Premiere, which convientely is FREE right now... for 'testing', but the version works well. it'll not work once they release the final version, but for now it's the best you can do.

I'm not gonna lie. Windows Movie Maker is the best free video editor. (Unless you want to run linux). The only problem is that its unstable as hell and randomly crashes causing you to lose your work. At least its better than iMovie.
 
You have to be fucking kidding me! iMovie is 1000000 times better than windows movie maker, in WMM you can't even make precise cuts, it had like pre-set shit, its gay. If you truely think that then i doubt your knowledge of iMovie or even editing at all, don't care who ya are.
 
I really hate iMovie and I really like windows movie maker. I hate how it saves projects. I hate how it saves movies. It does have a few more effects and filters but I hardly use those anyway. Windows movie maker has a solid easy to use layout. It has a save to file size option which is AWESOME when most of the stuff you're making is meant for the internet. Movie Maker is unstable as hell though which sucks but I still just don't like iMovie.
 
I'll agree, the way it saves sucks, all the clips are only saved in your project which i think is pretty beat. But you can size any file how you want if you know what you're doing when you export.
 
Then you have clips in the movie and clips on your harddrive so its double, fuck i need an external.
 
i guess if u like jus putting up clips like a slideshow it deffinitly not the same in every editing program, yes its the same basics ,but thats not editing, thats making a slideshow
 
except everythign i have seen from avid compared to FCP HD the quality of FCP HD is much much better, and if you have live type, and soundtrack it makes the progrAM a LOT better
 
I don't think you realize how many editing programs there are in the film world. Final Cut Pro is the best AFFORABLE editor, huge movie productions and shit use editors that cost $10,000+ and they are way better than adobe or final cut.
 
no dude im not a fuckin retard, were not talking about making a full length film feature obveously there are better programs, my brother graduated form the LA film Institute and the program he used out the was incredible. im not a fucking idiot i ment FCP is the best editing program for the shit that we are talking about editing (skiing)
 
It would be crazy to use one of those bad ass editors for skiing though, might be overkill eh?
 
it would be the sickest movie EVER, especially if you filmed the whole movie with Actual FILM , as expensive as it would be it would be soo badass
 
Its not just putting clips in a slideshow. You can still cut the clips, put in transitions, put filters put in music. You can't keyframe or anything in movie maker but you can't in iMovie either.
 
what i want is a better editor then windows movie maker, something that is really cheap or free, also then has more effects, titles, transitions, music etc..... but im also looking for an editor with and easy to use layout.
 
thats more like it. vegas is the shit and super easy to use w/ many tutorials and effects etc. such a nice program for video editing, thats what i use.
 
vegas 7.0 is hella nice, a sony rep hooked me up with a free version along with the new acid which is also nice, so now i put original remixes made by me in my movies.
 
iMovie is the shit!

but for PC yeah, use Windows Movie Maker, that program is dope.

but if you want something better, pirate Adobe Premiere 6.5, its really easy to do.
 
what program did u use for the neon hungry sloth productions trailer you put on here like a week ago...you know the sick one everyone liked?
 
i have adobe premiere on my laptop. it works nicely. fairely easy to get used to and has some nice features
