Mounting skis.

Good Morning NS,

So I'm trying really hard to get a job at a ski shop where I live, I'm 16 and know a ton about all the equipment and can tune skis perfectly well but I know little to nothing about mounting. For those of you who mount (especially if you do this at a shop) did you learn at the shop or take a course? And I'm wondering if it's true that you need to be certified to mount for a shop.

Anyways, going in to hand in my app and talk to the guy today. Wish me luck NS

They'll teach you. Half the guys I've worked with are absolutely horrible at mounting skis, and that's after being shown repeatedly how to do it properly.

dont go in there thinking that you know it all already, its not very attractive to an employer, go to the interview, tell them what you know, how you gained your knowledge and most importantly let them know that you are a good listener and are eager to learn, then you'll be sorted

i learned how after i started working at a shop. alot of times you dont have any way to learn unless you hav ea jig, which almost nobody does (besides a shop), so they should show you how, no class needed. depending on how legit your shop is they might or might not make you get certified. its ussually just an online thing though

yea ull pobly gona have to watch a really long and boaring tyroliea (spelling) movie and wheat ever other types of binding are popular at ur shop and take a certification test butr once u get a jig its relativily straight foward good luck wit hthe job
