do you need to use epoxy with the screws??? I took off my bindings cuz i thought i was going to sell them and then did not and today i put them back on my skis but did not use epoxyshould have i used epoxy on the screws
 
lol, yes!!!!

you def need some sort of epoxy! dont use superglue tho. i prefer to use gorilla glue and clamp the screws down, but any 12hr or more 2 part epoxy will work.

also make sure all the old epoxy is scraped out of the screw threads before re screwing with epoxy when you re-do it!
 
no im not, it works really well. the other week i stripped the mounting holes on the toepiece of my backyard skis. i tried JB weld and that didnt work, so i used gorilla glue. it holds stronger then it ever did before. it expands when it dries so that gives the screw a better bond with the core.

 
Gorilla glue can make things 10x worse especially if nothing is stripped.You clearly have very limited knowledge on this topic, and I would suggest that you stop while you're ahead.
 
Just get a two part epoxy tube from your hardware store. If they have marine quality that's even better.

However, I've been told before that a mixture of saw dust and wood glue does wonders for reattaching ski bindings....

Can anyone confirm this?
 
This^ Some people also insert steel wool to create a better bond between glue,core,screw.

 
Your best bet is to use a specific binding glue. Take them to a shop and im sure they will give you some glue for the holes. You can use epoxy but I have seen it damage a ski when the screw is removed.
 
Waterproof wood glue.

The glue is there to seal the holes from moisture and to help lubricate the screw as it goes in the hole.

If you strip the hole out, epoxy and heli-coil.

You do not need to epoxy screws on a normal mount, wood glue works perfectly fine and is much easier to use. I have mounted who knows how many pairs of skis at my shop and wood glue is all we use on a normal mount.
