Mounting k2 pe's

so as one of the most talked about and least known about topics, i need some information on the locations to mount last years k2 public enemy skis. i got them for him for xmas so i cant really let him know that i have them or ask him. (he wouldnt know where to mount them anyways.)

1) I need to know how far back core center (marked as the farthest foward suggested point) is from true center. note they are 179's

2) for my brother who will be skiing these about 50 50 park all mtn what would be the the most effective mounting place. keep in mind that he will be doing a lot of tree/glade/and the occasional pa pow day skiing so center is not at all an option. he is 5'10" and weighs about 160ish

3) im guessing that these skis are somewhat similar to my scatches and mine ski great at 4cm back park, pipe, and mtn however, i ski much more park and switch than he does. that being said, im leaning towards 5.5 - 6 cm back from center.

**do not post if:

a)you are just going to say to mount them center.

b)say Pe's are shitty and i should have gotten 4fronts or 9th wards

thank you

i appreciate any and all helpful insight.

I think core centre is 7.5cm back from true centre

I'd personally be mounting at core or within 2-3cm forward of it

This is from the man who designs the graphics and has skiied the PE's:

Hey man, I've always mounted my PEs at 5 for mixed usage and it works just fine. Thanks and enjoy those skis, they will treat you right, they rip on everything.

And I mounted them at 5 and they do rip on everything. From park to POW or groomers to choped up.

^^^ Since you said that I have to post this:

schmies --> bigbuds

Don't listen to kids telling you to mount past 7.5. They probably do not know how to ski:)

well if you're going to be a dick i used to ride 06/07 skis and i remember them being recomended that far back, if he plans on using these primarily as a park ski he should mount them at +7.5 thats still 2.5 back trom true center thats plenty for riding the rest of the mountain and plenty for park, personally id center mount them i have centermount skis (pipecleaners now) and they can still handle the rest of the mountain including the 2ft of pow we had over the weekend, AND they have 1in of edge missing and i can still carve them perfectly so dont fucking tell me that i dont know how to ski asshole

sorry man unlike silence and bigbuds, you didnt even read the thread. i blantantlly said that these will not be park specific skis and nobody cares that you can carve youre pipecleaners with an inch of edge missing.

keep em coming

thanks and + karma for the good answers silence and bigbuds

I rode PE's that were at core center and they carved well and they were good in the park, overall I would say that anywhere between 5 and 7.5 is good

mount them at +7.5. true center on that ski is +12. i had silencers (same sidecut as the PE) mounted at +7.5 for my do everything ski last year, and they skied really really well all mountain. anything less than +5 is pointless on a k2 ski. i have my seths at +5 as well, and they still ski really well, but dont see any park use.

I have 06-07 k2 pe's mounted at +4 from core and ride them 60-40 all mountain to park, i like the location but I don't have a huge amount of experience with different positions.

its cool i thought your comment was supposed to be insulting to me
