Mounting Help!

Whats up NS,

I am going skiing over the summer, and have an unmounted pair of pair of skis I'm hoping to use. I don't want to buy new bindings, so I'm asking you all if this idea would work.

I have a pair of Soul Riders mounted with FKS. I have blends that i need bindings for. Could i take the bindings off of the Soul Riders, get them mounted on the blends, and after i get back just re screw the fks onto the Soul Riders?

Thanks and +K to all help!

You run the risk of pulling out your bindings, and most people are gona tell you not to try. That being said, I have done the exact same thing and my pivots are still going strong after 2 pretty long seasons.

would it make the likelihood less if i don't really do park on the soul riders, just butters and maybe a jump or two a day?

Yea I agree with you. A pair of my fks broke early in the season but now i just switch out the bindings depending what im riding that day. it works for me I used some tread lock witch holds up well

It can be done, but if you can avoid it I would. I've had plenty of skis remounted in the same holes and it has worked well, but I wouldn't do it multiple times. I think your best bet would be to mount the blends and leave the fks on them until you can afford another pair of fks to put on the soul riders, that way you only mount the blends once. Really though, why not just ride the soul riders and save the blends for next season?

The blends were demos that i bought and a friend agreed to buy them after i skied over the summer. The Nordicas are also not durable at all so i don't want to trash them

So long as you are carfull when remounting you will be fine. I only have 3 sets of bindings I use on all the test skis I use so I'm constantly changing bindings around. So long as you remove te screws carefully an don't use somthing like epoxy in the holes you should have no issues.

It it does not sound like your doing it regularly but if you were you could mount wit binding inserts to make it even easier to switch but if it's just one switch for the summer you will have no problems.
