Mountains opening early!

I live near Aspen and it has been raining/hailing for the past 3 days. Yesterday night it even snowed a little. Now, I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting pretty hyped to ski and on the look out to see when the mountains around me are opening.

I know there is some speculation that A-Basin is opening up early this season sometime in late October. I heard from friend that Copper is opening up earlier than usual. But what gets my stoke levels up the most is the picture that Aspen/Snowmass posted on instagram. What have you guys heard?

Just like always, A Basin should open up in mid October.

Copper won't open early, they just start blowing snow early so they can host team USA early season camps.

So hyped that we're this close.
 
stay calm children. we're still a little bit out. look at the dirt that dude kicked up in that pic. personally i need more than 2 inches to hop on the hype train.

Yes it snowed. OMG. Yes it was cold and snow was made.

Long term forecast shows hotness first half of October. Cool down 2ed half.
 
I know exactly where that shot was taken. It's nothing but 2" of snow on top of soil and you can even see it in the picture.

The mountains will open when they can, and not a moment sooner.

Have you heard anything concrete? I know they said that they hoped to open on the 3rd in their coaches manual but usually they have some sort of announcement a day before they open.

Well shoot. My boss went home before T-line posted their announcement. Might not be able to beg off work now. I'm contemplating calling my boss on her cell phone but I don't know how that will go over.
