I did this short film for Mountain Dew, I'll leave the link/description below.. In short they selected 9 filmmakers, gave them 10k each to produce a 3 minute video and I was lucky enough to be one. Going into the 10k challenge I wanted to do a narrative film as it seems thats what the comp was geared towards (they called it a film festival and Robert Rodriguez was screening our films/give us mentorship if you won). However, I knew they wanted to see action sports so I tried to incorporation action sport videography as much as could in a plotted storyline. Seems like they wanted a more commercial, action sports reel rather then a narrative film. Take a look and tell me what you think... Oh I totally lost, the winner is on there, he's piece was way different than what I was trying to do but next its level and awesome.

Description

This year at SXSW, Mtn Dew issued a call for aspiring filmmakers to show us how they Do The DEW. Up for grabs? A $250,000 production grant and the chance to be an official content creator for DEW. Hundreds of entries were received, and nine finalists were selected to receive $10,000 to create a unique short film about DEW that was featured at the Green Label Studios: Open Call Film Festival in NYC. In this final selection, Andrew Keyser tells the story of Dill and his decades long passion for skate in “Dill the DEW – The Story of Delbert Cunning.”

That made me smile, nice work. I'm gonna show it to my coworker, he was a pro skater with tony hawk and all those guys and now he's 54 and still skates every weekend.

Thanks guys! Super stoked to hear the ski community digging this.

@SKI.ING^^^ Steve Berra was one of the judges at the film festival, he seemed to enjoy it. Thanks for sharing it man!
