Mountain Creek Skiers

Anyone here ski Mountain Creek? I'm bored of skiing alone cause all my friends either suck or don't ride park

whats up, i ski mountain creek a good amount and sometimes i drive from long island by myself so id ski with ya some days, hit me up

I had a season pass to creek last season. It was a good time. I would go midweek after class and weekends when it opened until it got too packed around 11-12... Now that I have a mon-fri 9-5 job I am just going to get a triple play card to creek and maybe hunter. Sucks that my off time is going to be like everybody elses and creek will be slammed. The rest is going to be lift tickets :(

I'm back home for school this year so I'll be hittin up creek a lot.

I film and edit 5x better than I ski. Anybody wanna get filmed this winter???

i suck but sure im always down for some filming

I switch between Creek, Shawnee, and blue depending on time to get out... But I'm old. 30 yo. And my G/F snowboards so I'm sure all of you young-ins wouldn't want to hang out with an old man who is still working on sliding a box :).

Tore my ACL last March at Mt. Creek. Stoked for a comeback this winter tho, prolly waitin till December to start with a easy park cruisin/filming

I got a pass to creek as well. Gonna be there pretty much every weekend! I'm not too good yet but I will improve. We should totally all meet up and ski together

im trying to avoid the weekend crowds so ill be going mostly weekdays but if we are gonna do a meet up ill totally go on a weekend

Anybody go today, I did! There were a bunch of freeskiers but I didn't really talk to anyone or catch any names. Will be there tomorrow as well.

id rather get aids then another creek pass this year...but i might end up getting a creek pass fml

Why do you say that? I am not getting one either this year.. But, weekdays and weekends from 8-11 is not so bad. Plus, if you're a park skier it is pretty tits. I am moving away from park skiing more so will be at the catskills more.

Surprised they wouldn't have features up on south? Is that true? I assumed as long as south was open, there would be

anyone know if South is open with features at mountain Creek yet

South only has 2 runs top to bottom. No features at all.

Was there yesterday, south is sketchy af right now and doesn't have any features up either.... Thousands of asian gapers and idiots everywhere, they are literally coming in by the busloads from the city in their woodbury commons attire. Fuck being the inner city of ski resorts

I had high hopes for creek last year. Bought a season pass and broke my arm on 2nd day on shitty feature on shitty condition day. Will probably never go back.

Aw c'mon Johny! Why say never? I was frustrated too when I torn my ACL on the 3rd day of my Springster Pass (not a season pass, but still)

Mt.Creek has a fun and decent park, and is the only Mtn. to have it that close to NYC. To bad they don't have at least a light setup on that South Peak and it's a middle of winter already...

Hitting features on a shitty condition day def increase a potential of getting a trauma tho, no doubt

I'm equidistant from Big Boulder and Mtn. Creek and the conditions at BB are always far superior and the park lasts until April. That "lake effect" makes a huge difference at Boulder.

I agree. Ive been shreddin BB for good 2 seasons, it's like my second Home Mtn:) And yeah park there is always on point, the crew is always out, super creative and caring about the surface conditions... Deservedly was rated #4 of TransWorld’s Top 5 of EastCoast finest parks back in 2010.

But Big Boulder is still a tiny hill. I mean, if ur in a "park rat" mood then Boulder is an answer, but if u wanna catch some chill/mellow runs with natural terrain fun, and not going to VT at the same time, then Creek would prolly be the best way to go.

Thousands of asian gapers and idiots everywhere,

This is every time I go. Busload of asians. Weekday, weekend... Doesn't matter. Can't hit any features cause there's a train or asian snowboarders.

So, the creek 2014/2015 season, aka the 2015 season... Supposedly they got something up at south, according to instagram.

Was there yesterday. I got a season pass. All the guns were blazing. Snow was pretty soft and the setup was sick. They got a dope 18ft fatboy tube thats beyond sick. Should have a full setup by the weekend.

Going to be there tomorrow and stoked. Blue saga over red armada pants and volkl steps. Holler if you see me

Mtn Creeks park crew wants us to decide what feature they put in next. We gotta make sure its not something stupid. Click the link and vote!!

My votes for the 2ft tube. Vote goddammit!

I voted for a mushroom bonk! Holy shit the landing after all the boxes today got squished. there is an up-down box and it was like a little canyon up to my ass from all the people riding straight onto and then off the box. Its soo sketchy, is that normal for creek?

I miss weekend mornings shredding at creek and the occasional non busy day. However, the comments on Creeks Instagram remind me why I hate all the fuckin punks who board there. The level of ignorance and arrogance is disgusting. I used to be a punk too but the comments are fucking racist and harsh..

I agree. While the gapers and beginners in the park are incredibly annoying, the amount of entitlement and arrogance one would need to demand that they shouldn't be allowed there is insane. I do support the movement for park passes and possibly jibs on bear, but fuck they need to do it respectfully and not demand it. Beginners and stupid people should join the rest of themselves at north but the people conscientiously trying to improve and learn park skiing/etiquette should e allowed. Explaining how the stupid people are going to hurt people instead of saying they get in your way via a letter or email will get you 100x farther then a grammatically incorrect, ill thought out, shitty comment on instagram. How about we segregate trails for skiers or boarders as well? Then maybe I won't get in the way off all boarders who want to boardslide that sick rail bro, which is funny because I go way faster then boarders, being both a skier and former racer, AND I don't sit on my ass in the middle of the trails, stop at the flats, or do other shitty things like that. In the lift line, kids put their board on my tails and when I say I would appreciate it if you didn't stand in my tails, they say well get your tails out of my way. WHAT THE FUCK it's not your property, and if you had an ounce of respect and humble-ness you would realize that 3 seconds later when i move my ski on top of your board you don't like it either.

end rant/

lol and also the icy corner on the trail all the way to the right when you go down south is gaper death waiting to happen. It is literally so icy that I can slide sideways from when it gets steeper all the way to the flatter part where you can go left to medium features.

So I don't regularly ride at the Creek, but I'm headed there next Saturday to shoot the rail jam thats going down. Can anybody give me some info on the event and mountain? Typically how large are the venues, whos more impressive between skiers or boarders, any NS'ers going to be there? Any info is great, I'm just looking for what to expect.

It's the Red Bull All Snow comp. No wood, no metal, just snow. Never been to it but will be there this year so I'm stoked. Not gonna participate but if it's open I will totally lap it after the comp.

It is going to be a zoo! There are some nasty snowboarders in NJ since the ratio is at least 15:1 boarders to twin-tippers. Also, some nasty skiers but def more boarders.

15:1? I saw like 6 freeskiers (not counting gaper 12 year olds) total throughout the day, and hundreds of boarders haha.

yeah I meant to write in ( ) that i was being conservative. Snowboarding is the cool thing to do in NJ. I have seen some twin tippers rip it though

Anybody going this weekend? I'll be a creek on Saturday and Monday, hopefully Sunday or Tuesday as well.

Are they leaving the redbull thing up? I feel like they always destroy comp builds to prevent gapers from killing themselves, but this one seems slightly less harmful? I mean, that's if they're not getting rained on real bad right now. The ratio of ski/boarders is like 1:100. I saw two obvious NSers last time I went. I think both had first drop coats. And as I was getting on the lift some little kid behind me said something about mole squad.

And the giant patch of ice on the big bear side under the lift was hilarious. I saw so many snowboarders slide down it. I was there last saturday. I was the kid in the dark blue coat doing 360s up the bump from the skier's left of kamikaze to the right side then showing the racers how to make turns... I guess they just call that whole part big bear now?

I've been skiing here for a while and I still don't know any trail names... I just call it the right and left side.

I'll be there tomorrow (Monday) with some bros. I'll be wearing a blue first drop jacket.

Anyone else hittin up Creek tomorrow?? PM me if so!

I might've seen you but I don't remember. I have red pants, and a black/white/blue saga jacket and volkl steps with griffons. I eat shit constantly because this is my first real year at a park but I'm getting better really fast.

I think any active newschoolers at creek should have either a NS sticker on their helmet, use the call out phrase a lot (do you know how to get to chad's gap from the bottom of Alta?), or like post a pic of them in their ski shit here so we know who's down to ski with each other.

There was a kid with orange afterbangs (I think) and orange lenses that kept flipping, Anyone know him? One kid had a ski the east tall T and fischer skis and was throwing some big spins and the occasional flip, he was at the all snow comp to. There is always the kid with the purple/green domains that skis literally every day with the silver/black jacket. I've skied with him a few times and he's super chill and shreds hard.

Hit me up if you are gonna be there next weekend at all. I'd be stoked to finally ski and meet some of you guys. Peace

My skis actually have "newschoolers" written on the sidewall in sharpie, although it's only on one or four. Might be hard to see if the skis are on my feet too. I'm not sure. I need to get stickers.
