with all this snow coming in this weekend (mount snow already got 24-30" in the last 24h) i was planning on making a trip this saturday to mount snow for some pow. i was wondering if anyone here is a local or skis there a lot and can tell me how big the crowds are and if it will be super crowded on a saturday.

+k for some help. suggestions for other mountains are welcome aswell.

Thanks

haha, and the best part is when it gets below freezing at night, all the snow will tun to a block of ice

but temps have been dropping lately. even though it rained the snow couldnt have that high a water content?

i saw a video snow report for jay peak and mad river. they both got a shit ton of snow and its really nice dry snow.

from riding the Adirondacks today, i'll tell you right now anything south of Jay or Stowe will have super heavy, wet snow that will turn to cement very shortly.

mount snow is southern vermont. i dont think it should fall under the catagory of almost in massachusetts. and im just trying to get answers and suggestions for other mountains. jay and mrg are a bit out of reach for a day trip. any other suggestions?

is it worht skiing? i mean i wont go if its straight mashed potatoes and i canat go more than 10 feet without stopping. but if its okay east coast pow i wouldnt mind it. i just want skiable pow it doesnt have to be blower, dry, utah pow.

y'know?

you should either

A. listen to what everyone is saying. it will be wet.

or

B. Learn how to ski shitty east coast pow and have a great day.

You've obviously never driven to Snow from the south, it's literally 25ish miles from the Massachusetts border if you know which way to go...

its super heavy wet snow. the snow at jay =/= snow at mt snow.

ill be there too, doesnt matter to me but like chris said im not expecting fluffy powdery faceshots.

according to some of my friends that live up there its heavy as fuck.
and yes mount snow is very close to massachusetts, it only takes me like a half hour to get there once i get over the MA border

skied at mt snow yesterday snow was heavy but alot of fun deep and it was skiable, today it rained l on and off today with snow and its now dumping snow and has been last few hours and its heavy as hell there is no way you could ski it with any success

here at mount snow we've had over 37" of snow fall in the last 3 days, but yea yesterday it was super wet so it'll prob be heavy and sticky where it's not groomed.

its pooping snow right now, nice dry flakes, which i hope doesn't stop until may

i live in mass and it's less than 22miles to mount snow from my house

jay peak isnt a fair comparison, it should be categorized in Heaven rather than Vermont

ive been at Mount Snow for the past week and there was a lot of wet pow, but now the park is actually kind of icy from all the wind weve been having

the real question is, are the parks being maintained? i dont want the park to turn into a block of ice, and did they rebueild infero's rail section and all of gulch like they said they were going to

today the pow on northface was lighter than it has been lately, heavier down in the parks. epic pow morning. hope the parks are shaped up for tomorrow

...AMAZING

i had some money-ass runs through the woods near freefall. the snow was definitely different today than it was the last two.

the 53" of snow in the last 4 days will DEFINITELY help mount snow stay open longer into the spring

I was there on Wednesday and hit most of the trails on north face. Jaws, was by FAR my favorite. Must have hit it 5 or 6 times. Wow what an incredible day.

yea wednesday was pretty money, except i broke the toe piece of my jesters off my chopsticks first friggin run!

but after getting a back-up pair everything worked out, and i was able to drop cliffs and shred the gnar as planned

thanx mother nature!
