Mount Snow Extended Season Petition

Im writing this to see how many people would still come ride if Carinthia were to stay open past the end of the season? With all the snow that was made for the Dew Tour in Inferno it would suck to just watch it melt away (again) and only be used one more time for the Peace Pipe Jam. Im hoping to get a bunch of responses on this and pass it along with a suggestion of keeping lift 3 (the double) spinning and Inferno and Gulch open as long as possible! Any other ideas or suggestions from anyone? May just be a pipe dream but damn is it a good one!!!!!!!!

except for the fact that if mount snow did that im sure they would lose money. thats why they have never done it before??? if they were to make a profit on it im sure they would have done that in the past...

ill will be there regardless if the lifts are running but it would definitely be sick if they could keep em spinning for a bit longer

Thats why there would have to be some sort of a sure thing i.e since its "passed" the season no passes are honored, maybe charge $20 a day for a ticket? I understand what you mean but like you said "they have never done it before" If even half the interest is there that there is for the Peace Pipe Jam I believe it could be pulled off. Maybe just weekends or fri-sun? This is why this post is up to get these ideas and find a way to make it work

a mi me gusta mucho. yes, as proposed, MS would lose money on it. However, for advertising, being the first to open and the last to close means a lot. and inferno could keep them open for weeks longer than most other resorts, even if its just a few rails. Also, most of the expense is the lift op., so why not have everyone sign a release waiver and have a massive weeks-long rail jam? less crowds than the peace pipe jam too

There are so many factors other than snow amount that causes a ski resort to close. The major one is their insurance policy. Most resorts close when their insurance runs out for the year. I'm not too familiar with mt. snow but if they are on public land that could also be an issue. Then there is the money factor, it most likely won't be profitable to stay open a little while longer.

please stay open as long as possible.. if inferno is the only thing skiable later on then just keep the 'heavy metal double' open

as said they have no interest in keeping open longer even if they can bceause theyd make no money, itd be all pass holders. and theres no way in hell id pay MORE to spring ski

They have probably already thought of this, and I guess didn't think it would work out, but it would be sick though.

If they get a lot and i mean A LOT of demand for this it will happen at least i hope so because this would be the sickest thing since ebola

Wonder how the insurance thing works with the mountain like if there was a summer camp held could they extend it and if so then the camp could bring in the $$$ needed spin and staff lift groomer ranger etc... maybe? Im most likely beating a dead hooker here but it would be ebola if it happened

I like his double ooof to chesty

me and some kids are headin down there today. anyone know how the jumps are in inferno? and if they have groomed them?

signed. but for this to actually work we have to somehow send a real petition around and get real signatures and bring it to the front office, or else they wont even consider

It is a peak resort and if anyone's been to big boulder in april or may day they def push it to the last bit of coverage so this isn't that absurd .

aprial 15 th or the 18th cant see them staying open much longer than that ,there gonna be getting alot of rain ,mon tues wed just got home from mountsnow it is my home mountain ,the mountain is all hardpacked my boy fucked his heel on the secound jump in dewtour landed real deep on tranny stomped his heel reel good ,snow is melting quick.get your days while you can .

Yeah it rained today but the conditions held up pretty good. Top layer was wet but just under was still a hard pack that held up for the most part but after these days of rain then tropic temps at the end of the week and weekend well see where their coverage is at.

i doubt theyre going to keep the lifts running (considering half their staff just went back to south america) but i heard a few rumors this weekend about late season setups, hoping for the best
