definitely dont just get a cheap helmet, since they are super important. theres the big brands like shoei, arai, hjc and bell. but i know that scorpion makes pretty inexpensive helmets. just look around online dude its not hard.

yea! spend no money on protection but buy yourself that kawasaki ninja 800cc trust me, its a good decision.
Or you could be intelligent, buy a good helmet, take a course, and wait till you have the maturity necessary for a motorcycle. It's fools like you that lead to the term "organ donor"
Plus the more $$ helmets are incredibly more comfortable.
unless of course your in your mid 20's and have owned bikes for a while, however given that this is NS i doubt it.
 
check out different companies and look for closeout stuff. there are still brand new leftovers from last year that go for suuuuper cheap.

i got 2 brand new helmets this year for the price of one!!
 
Buy the helmet that fits and is the most comfortable, dont worry about the price so much it will save your life. Check Ebay, but make sure you go try on the exact helmet before you purchase.
