so I had a really bad biker crash a couple of days ago at work (the warm weather here brought em out).
it reminded me of this series of photos that they showed us at class about a year ago, and i did some searching and found them online. i searchbarred and didnt see anything about this on here, even though this is somewhat old news.
just doing this as a sort of PSA, be careful now that the bikes are coming out, always pay attention dont cut them off. also, i was in OH visiting my gf over the weekend, and it seems like no one out there ever wears a helmet.... im not telling you bikers what to do...but those of you who dont wear helmets end up being our organ donors here at the hospital.
article.

wow that is horrendous. almost as bad as the 77mph deer + car accident. people are idiots sometimes when it comes to their safety but hey if you wanna risk it then its your choice.

i remember that. i dont ride that much anymore...

my father hit a deer in sturgis on his bike. he was going nearly 100mph. he split the deer in half. he was lucky though he only bruised his leg. but i had to drive down to DC to go pick him up from the airport.

and yea the no helmet guys, BANG UP JOB.

Its not at all dangerous if you know how to ride properly and you pay attention. The people who crash either did something fuckin stupid, werent paying attention or someone around them did something stupid. That said, something like 25% of motorcycle accidents are due to a motorcycle making a left turn properly (I.E signalling it and shoulder checking and call) and a person (coming from the left) hitting them in the side.

it not a problem of if you ride properly. Most of the time its the people around you who get you hurt. such as another driver not paying attention

That is really fucked up. I thought that the guy was a crash test dummy at the beginning, but i then realized that his head went through the steel door panel. Nobody deserves something like this.

If you think that is the worst thing youve seen on the internet go to the gallery of the gruesome link above it, I did and now i sort of wish i hadn't.

Holy crap that looks so crazy almost looks fake. Its like once when we got stuck in a traffic jam later to find out (when we start getting closer) that it was a motorcycle accident and the dudes arm was laying on the shoulder.

holy balls that's terrible :( my dad just bought a new bike...i'm sending him this link. what did the guy get ripped in half on though?

I have to disagree. I hate that philosophy simply because I always think of what that picture would have looked like if he blindsided a baby in a car seat instead of the back of a truck. If you drive recklessly, you could kill someone who is trying to be careful.

except with a motorcycle its mainly your own life your endangering. its much harder to kill someone with a motorcycle than it is with a car

Which is exactly how most motorcycle accidents happen- another driver (usually a car) collides with a motorcycle or causes them to run off the road or fall. Car drivers are not accustomed to looking for a motorcycle and will not recognize what it is if they make a quick glance in their mirrors.

I ride, but I feel much safer on my bike than in my car (in constantly flowing traffic). Much more maneuverable and smaller.

I disagree with one small thing in your post. I am a big protector of those that ride, and i understand that a majority of accidents are caused by one of the things you mentioned (stupidity basically, and more often than not other drivers).
i also understand that those who ride motorcycles do so for the hobby, not for utility purposes (generally), and this tends to make them safer on the road than the average car driver.
my problem is that you said it is not at all dangerous if you know how to ride properly and pay attention. you yourself said that other drivers are the cause of many accidents. that alone makes riding a motorcycle more dangerous than a car. on top of that are environmental hazards that are more likely to bring down a bike. and then, after all that, a motorcycle is more likely to crash out of sheer circumstance (oil or sand on the road). And dont forget about the actual crash. T bone your car at 35 mph into another car, hopefully with a seat belt you will leave with minor injuries. Do that on a bike, and you could die without protection, and be seriously injured even with protection.
trust me, i understand the passion for riding, and im not trying to dissuade you from the bike. saying its not at all dangerous just is not right, and the truly experienced bikers will acknowledge this and continue to ride anyways, as a risk that they are willing to take (much like trying to flip or spin on skis off a jump).

according to my older brother, "if you wreck hard enough to die from a head injury, all a helmet will do for you is let you have an open casket wake"... lol and he is a emt....

120+MPH....
Shitty, but seriously, when you're going that fast it's bound to happen sooner or later.

damn have you seen the one on that website where the guy jumped off a roof and got his head skewered on a fence post and his body ripped off and is below him?

what about it? people will go fast in anything that can go fast. the way i see it is go that fast sure but only for a short period of time and know all the ins and outs of the road and where you are.

for sure. yeah a bunch of motorcycle accidents are caused by the people on the bike being careless, but other drivers are definitely a hugee problem. Ive seen/heard of some crazy shit.

what a fucking retard, im sorry his buddy died a week before doing THE EXACT SAME things, you'd think you'd realize its a bad idea. I always look out when im changing lanes of course but if a motorcycle is going twice the speed limit its not my problem to stay out of his way.

The only reason I clicked on the link was to see some new gore, his body position was funny, but very mild and boring overall, 3/10~

It doesn't even look real.
