Most Influential Park Skier

In my opinion the most influential park skier right now is Henrik, he literally changed the face of skiing it is mostly because of him people arent skiing park with poles. Discuss

Tanner would be high on that list too. But as far as 90% of style goes nowadays these 2 are among the most influential.

And OP pep and mahre used no poles on hellbents in the park YEARS ago, henrik did not just start this. Hell im sure people used no poles in the park before pep also

 
andy's entire new bag of tricks changed the game, he doesn't get enouhg credit for it i don't think

tough question, because a lot of times the guys that make tricks and styles popular were by no means the first to do them. jon olsson deserves a lot of credit for making dub corks and dub rodeos popular, but on the other hand, mike wilson was doing dub 10s years earlier, and people before him did "risky flips" (dspin 7 to backflipp). wallisch made pretzels super popular but people did those way before he came along. b-dog made presses, 50-50s, and one footers more popular but the gagniers were doing them way earlier. and, no disrespect, but if you think henrick is the first person to get people to stop using poles then you haven't been following this sport for very long lol.

in the last 5 years: wallisch. with bdog as a close second

last 10 years: mik d, jon olsson or tanner.

for the next 5 years: my money is on henrik

overall: its gotta be the first skiers to popularize park skiing, all the canadian airforce crew.

even this list leaves out important people though like charles gagnier, corey vanular, mike wilson, dumont, candide, travis heed and andy parry and too many others to even name.

sorry for the rant but its aways good to look back at where this ridiculous, awesome sport of ours came from. fuck yea skiing.
 
True dat. If you invent a new trick, you've gotta be up there.

Also, this isn't my era but TANNER HALL probably set skiing in a totally different tangient, he's actually probably the most influential in history. Kinda started the thug thing too right?
 
Im gonna set my money on Torin as for the next 5 years. He is so young and has already stomped a 1800. He is gonna break the 2000 barrier and spin us into the future
 
influencing personal style is much more than trending.poles/nopoles, one extra spin....hippykillers, diamonds are forever

Did you ever stop to think that they are "mainstream" because they are two of the best skiers in the industry?

Probably not.
 
Aside from the early legends like the canadian airforce, then tanner, candide, CR, pep, etc... Dave Chrichton. He's your favorite pro skier's favorite pro skier. Therefore, his influence is twofold.
 
i dont know about all of skiing but personally maks gorham's style influences me the most.

its just so compact, flowy, and clean.

Of course they're mainstream because they're really good. What makes them influential is that most kids go crazy over them IMO.
 
Naw man B-DOG everywhere. The guy get's about half the respect he deserves. He still does things people dont even think about doing as far as rails go and so he has taken the game to a whole new level and like Andy Parry does stuff that just can't be matched
