Most Indestructible poles

I have been bending and breaking all of the poles I use and I'm looking for just a really solid, unbreakable pair of poles. Any suggestions?

You could get some carbon fiber poles but those are not exactly cost effective. Titanium would also be pretty strong. You get what you pay for because the cheaper the pole the crappier the metal. To be honest I would just get a really cheap pair that you can replace it without worrying about breaking an expensive pair that is more durable.

... Really. ^

But anyways ive had my line ones for like 3 seasons and they like never bend or anything and i had some bad crashes but they are still good, but have heard panda are good like previously stated

Panda poles as mentioned, never had any problems with my pairs. Check out their Vimeo page. They have some durability tests and a vid of panda poles literally chopping other ski poles in half.

Rental poles are basically indestructible, within reason. They're also heavy as hell and I don't know where to get them that doesn't involve being a morally bankrupt shithead (aka stealing from your hill)

Anything composite, the more carbon the better. Goode is sweet, scott has some good ones, etc. I have old scott p core composite poles and I can bend them past a 90 degree angle and they snap right back to place, just like a ski!

I doubt I'll ever ride aluminium poles again after riding the Armada team composites:

They're made out of fiberglass, not carbon. That's good though because they're cheaper than carbon, more resilient than carbon, lighter than aluminium, and they don't bend like aluminium. The simple grip and strap are pretty nice to if you prefer that.

those are one of the best value's as far as poles go right now. I just tell people they're around the same durability as the team issue but for 75 bucks and sold!!

Yup, been using some K2 barber poles(pretty much the same composition) for 3 years now after bending a shit ton of aluminum...I'll never go back to an aluminum pole again.

Does anyone know anything about Soul Poles? Are they just as durable as Panda Poles?

Durability wise, I cannot comment on the soul poles, for I have not ridden them. But I'm sure they are on the same scale of durability. But here a few reasons why I'd go panda over soul.

1. Cheaper. Panda starts at $85 a pair and soul is $100 a pair i believe.

2. Basket. The panda basket is awesome for traversing, especially on the deeper days. The big basket doesn't sink through. It also doesn't drag or get hung up all over the place since its cut a 45 degree angle with the pole.

3. Grips. I hate pistol grips. That's just me but I like grabbing where I want. Also the grip length is nice. Grab low when riding, high when traversing.

Haha just a few things but they can make a difference which can make your skiing more enjoyable. Also bamboo poles look so sick. Tansnowman(the owner) is also really chill and nice. If you have any questions about anything just email him and he'll let you know

Tansnowman is insane in the best way possible. I'm going to throw in a +1 for Panda poles. The baskets are soooooooo good. I've almost dislocated my shoulder getting baskets caught in trees before, never happens with Panda Poles, don't know if I could get them caught if I tried. Also I personally really like the grips as well, sure I might look a little goofy but the super long samurai grip is clutch, especially when climbing steep terrain.

Another recommendation for Panda Poles. Also you can design your own pair from their website. The color of grips, grip type, the type of bamboo used, the basket, basket color, the straps, and the length are all customizable.

It seems as if the possibilities are endless.

So this got posted in the wrong thread, but it was a glitch on NSs part, not mine. Please ignore

I have a pair of Salmon poles, the ones with the foam grips and after several years of just breaking poles half away through the season they've held up the best.

Of all the poles we've tested, the strongest poles other than Panda Poles are the cheapest aluminum rental poles. They usually take about 8 swings to cut in half, opposed to one swing with carbon fiber or world cup aluminum poles. The lighter weight the pole, usually the easier it is to snap. However our bamboo is both strong and light, as it has a higher strength to weight ratio than carbon. And we put a one year warranty on our poles in the event that something does break!

Check it out!

Personally I've had good luck with Scott Team issue and swix composite/carbon. Never tried bamboo.

^ Those videos honestly aren't a good test. Entertaining, but hitting the middle of the other brand poles with the upper end of the panda pole is just not a fair test. If you want to do it right, put one pole resting on some cinder blocks (one block at each end). Then take another pole, and put it across the other one to make a +. And push down at the tips of the top pole, see which one breaks then.

Or just wack the pole on the cinderblocks with a bat or something in the middke. My guess is they'd all break...
