Most important part of a set-up?

A correct fitting boot is the start to a great setup. Before I worked at a shop I rode a couple pair of boots that were huge on my feet. Had to tighten buckles down way to far, still had my feet slosh around in the boots; this made skiing not as fun. Now getting a pair of boots that are the correct size, fit my feet, meet my riding style has made skiing so much more fun.

The key is to start with boots that are correct for you. The ski's and bindings will follow.

Make sure the person fitting you for boots asks lots of questions about you, riding style, where you are riding, old ski boot fit, what you want in boots, what boots you have looked at, what your plans are for skiing.

- Find a different shop if they don't measure foot length, don't look at your foot without shoes on, or don't shell fit a boot.

idk...i dont see many kids in the park with bindings that have a high chance of causing pain/damage to the knee...however i see ALOT of people with boot fits that cause them to have black toes, shinbang, cold feet, etc.
the frequency of knee tears:feet pain is what im talking about.

Boots, especially when you have shit deformed feet like me, when I had my first pair of boots, I would get blisters the size of golf balls

Boots hands down. skiing is miserable if they dont fit right, and the absolute tits if they do fit right. as awesome as skiing is, if your feet are cold/pressured/in pain in general it's going to be a shitty day no matter how awesome your skis or bindings or goggles are.

It absolutely your outer wear, if its not fresh and does not get quoted for being 'sick' in the post your outerwear thread then you might end up looking like a gaper and no one will think your cool.
