Today is the day the day that the Boston Bruins revealed a statue of Bobby Orr on the anniversary of his famous leap. I was just arguing with my roommates and I argue that this is the most famous picture in the history of sports.

So people of NS, I turn to you. What do you feel is the most famous still photo in the history of all sports?

I agreed with the bobby orr one. Its my favourite sports pic, not sure if its the most famous but in Canada it forsure is!

it might be one of the most famous in hockey, but there has to be a lot more in sports. hell, even in boston sports history. I would think fisk's 12th inning walk off, in photo but especially film, would be more famous.

this is the pic of tiger woods ball on the cup edge at the masters it may not be the most famous but everyone knows exactly what event and situation it was

Obviously depends on what country you are from... I think a better thread would be most famous pictures from each sport. I imagine there are some pretty iconic images from sports that i don't really follow much.

i'd say thats probably the most famous hockey picture...but i feel like if i didn't live near boston, i'd have no idea about that picture.

most famous sports picture is most likely soccer related, due to the world cup. Probably pele with the trophy, maradona's hand, or zidane's headbutt.
