MOST DURABLE SKI FOR RAILS

no no no
theres maybe a handful of people that have actually ridden them hard enough to know if they hold up on rails, and until the market has actually tested and proven them they have no rep
Honestlyman im the same, im 6'2 190 lbs and ski 95% rails and i usually go through two pairs of skis a year, and THE most durable rail skis are Head mojo 80's, ive had mine for a season and a half and i finally just lost a bit of edge and a couple cracks are showing through (ive gone through 4frnts and rossis in two weeks) which is pretty good. You prob wouldnt wanna ride anything less than 180 anyways, but yeah

FTW

NO NO NO.

I'm from the Southern Hemisphere and ski with some of the best riders in Australia and all I'm hearing about the Afterbang is that it's one of the most durable park skis out there. Due to it's construction the top sheet doesn't chip (though I don't think it has one) and the edges have never bonked out on them. Trust me I know what I'm talking about I'm a Sponsered athlete and my Friends are Sponsered by Line and all I'm hearing from them is good news so don't go out saying that the industry hasn't tested because the Industry has.

okay well thanks for more info, I just get tired of hearing "afterbang" a thousand times a day when no kid in the northern hemisphere has nearly even touched a pair nevermind ridden them for a season. If theyre worth the hype like a pair of jordans then ill pick up the reviews as they come along.
In addition, consider that the guy is 6'3 and 175, ideally he wouldnt ride a ski that's longest length is a 177 and soft flex cause itll noodle out eventually. Unless you would like to provide more insight into this as well?

I can see were your coming from, there has been alot of hype about this ski. As I said it's a fairly durable ski and it has more pop then anything thing else It's fairly soft but not as people say it is. If it were a park ski and I was that tall to be honest I would probably preffer it due to the fact that I could spin more and get onto rails easier but hey that's just me.

Just here to help.

Anything made by Armada. I still ride my AR5s after 5 seasons as a rail/urban ski. Not AR6's, AR5. The only significant damage is an edge crack under foot. That's it. They still have proper camber and stiffness for the most part as well.

epic spansorship claim!

last year at the industry demo at Mammoth Mountain, kid i know from a shop in Sacramento was rollin on the 'bangs and broke an edge pretty hardcore.

That said, kevin weighs about 190, and I understand the edges were sharp as fuck and they probably caught hardcore on the rails he was hitting, but nevertheless... they are by no means indestructable.

yeah ive heard really good things about the afterbang but by no means are they destructable. they will break like any other ski. I really wanna demo some antidogmas too those are suposidley super good on rails

But the topsheet chips and cracks like crazy. My ar6's base and edges are fine but the topsheet has crazy spiderweb craks all over them.

the newer liberty's (larose's and LTE's) are bomb. I used to go through 2-3 rossis a year before I made the switch. Liberty's have wider softer edges (absorb heat and impact better without cracking) and i believe they improved the edge anchors. I've been pleased, certainly a solid company and worth checking out

My punx have held up quite well. Granted I only skied them for half a season due to injury, but no edge cracks or real edge damage after that half a season.

hahaha i guess no one caught that one, i laughed +k, but seriously check out the t-halls, and volkl walls, im a little biased, but i do rails like and both of those skis held up great for me t-halls got some edge cracks after 2 seasons, bases are bombproof tho, k2 extremes, are cheap and have some thick edges, and hard base too, so if u want to save some money check those out, supeeeeerr soft too easy for butters

ANTIDOGMA!!!
no-dogs-sign-8t.jpg

its true very durable, they have a friction resistant coating/base material underfoot and some really impact proof edges. they also ride very well.

its not about the top sheet. all top sheets chip. if your top sheets are fucked up and your edges are fine you can still shred to full potential. but if your edges are blown and your top sheet is in good condtion what good does it make?

with out question Elan puzzles, and if you want a ski that is literally indestructible on rails, and is designed specifically for them look around for some old elan Mo's.

i have some 06-07 line chronics i think there 06-07 they are the ones with the skulls on the tails. anyways i have skied the shit out of those skis and everything is still intact. so i would deff say some chronics. Every one i know destroyed there invaders just from them breaking. I broke a pair on a rail actualy.

ive got Atomic punxs, they tuff as!!! brought them off jossi, they lasted him over last winter and northern winter and then nzs for me winter season!!! so i think they pretty strong, im 6 3 as well! then went to some 4frnt stls for a few days and they already falling apart!!! so back to the punxs!!! t-halls top sheets will get screwed, they are armadas....

but what ever you like aye!!
