Most durable edges?

i know there have been MANY threads on this but I'd just like to see what everyone thinks. I've had volkl walls now for a while (like 5 pairs) they are pretty badass but I'm pretty heavy I weigh 185 and the edges get murdered, especially on 270s on and disasters. I haven't had a pair of Armadas yet but I think I may try em.

k2 has bomb proof edges. did many disasters and sparks fly but except for a dent nothing happens. the edges seem rather soft, thus are less likely to brake, but simply just change their shape a little. my 2010 punx had hard and thinner edges and cracked like no others. no problem with the 2012/13 punx after a couple of months of skiing on em.

I've had decent luck with Armada's, I've rode AR7's the past few years and they've held up decently. From what I've been hearing though, ON3P seems to be making some of the most bomber skis/edges on the market. Though it also sounds like their quality varies a bit from ski to ski.

FYI you should post a question like this in Gear Talk in the future :)

yea i hear that about posting in the right place, people have been not listening to the rules as much lately so I followed suit. My apologies. Back to the original topic I had some domains and they SUCKED point blank, pretty fun ski but not great for jumps and the edges collapsed into the ski after about 60 park days on them.

I haven't done much park on them, but my Moment Bibby's are going into their fourth season without a single crack. I've even got a large core shot that's two years old right along the edge (about 4 inches long, right underfoot, about as wide as the edge) and the edge is still good.

all skis break just the same. If you want your skis to last, don't hit rails.from having work parks for 8 seasons, 7 days a week on the hill/park, everything breaks.

Best buying used skis and have them as a jib/rail pair, then keep a good pair for the mtn / pipe / jumps.

Ever hear of High Society skis? I got some for cheap and the edges looks super beefy and thicker than most skis. I'm curious how long they will last before i get edge cracks, because every brand of ski i've ever owned, gets edge cracks within the first few days of sliding rails.

Anyone out there have High Society skis?

Rocky mountain underground has some of the best edge construction ever. I rode a pair of diams for over 200 days and yes, they got edge cracks. But unlike most skis the edge stayed in, due to the heavy duty anchor.

I had great like luck with K2's, then i tried 4FRNT's and the edges broke almost right away, I just ordered a pair of ON3P's hoping those will be nice

amen to that used to be a park ranger for a few years myself. Its an expensive sport for sure. I only recently started beveling my skis underfoot. Definitely prolongs the life of the ski if your hitting rails. Its just too much fun to go through the park hitting rails and jumps.

my two most recent pairs of skis are 2012 scratches and 08? t-halls

I rode the t-halls for 3 1/2 seasons and there were only about 8 edge cracks total and no tear outs. underfoot the edge was worn down to almost nothing but thats not bad considering i put over 100 days on them. i feel like the new construction of armadas is a little less durable tho

the scratches suck dick. i put like 25 days on them and the edges ripped out and are ripping out in so many places now. you can literally see the edge putting pressure on the base wanting to pop out in like 10 different spots on each ski

if you can afford it go armada

agreed, bases are really strong too, well as strong as bases can be that is. Havent skied them yet, but i bought two pairs or praxis this year...i think they should be strong contenders for the most durable skis ive ever owned.

ross s4/skratch, skis well, after 30 days of rails edge was goon, used 3 pairsarmada thall/ar7, had one pair of eatch used them between 20-40 days befor edge came out

k2 domain, works fine edge wise, hade 2 paris broke both after around 30 days edges still working fine

völkl wall, best so far have used 2 pairs works best for me, edge torn out in nz snowpark after 30 days of hammering rails,
