Monster shoot in Mammoth

Just got to Mammoth for the annual Monster shoot with the boys. So far so good! The jump looks fun. It’s shorter than Alyeska’s jump was, but looks really poppy. We checked it out earlier. They are going to take a little kick off of it so we can be sure to make the landing when we test ‘er out tomorrow morning. If it’s good, we get to session in the afternoon. I’ve never done a shoot with the any of the boys here so I’m pumped to watch them throw down in person!Photos provided by Kevin Dequer

They had one before, in a similar place, that didn't have the slope on the sides of the landing, just a straight up and down wall like the JOI jumps. It looked a lot cooler, just as poppy. I wonder if this is the same jump, they just made it more mellow?

That jump was built for triples. I can't even imagine how scary that would be to hit

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, that thing is massive!!!! And not even long, just poppy as fuck. Literally, they'll probably go higher than they go far. If they could match the landing to that, it could be something really special. As they reach full height, and begin falling back down, they'd be really floaty at the peak of the curve, which could give a really interest twist.

haha these jumps are starting to look more and more like air sites. "Built for triples" is icing on the cake

they probably built it with extra pop. probably so they could shave some off according to what the athletes want once they arrived. Looks like its gonna go off!

They shaved it down 2-3 feet today so it should be really prime.

Just to give you that terrible feeling of peeeeling into a fucking wall of snow. The worst thing when you're coming into a jump is to feel like there's a fucking quarterpipe between you and the landing.
