Like the man says, you need snow. Both times I've skied it, it was wind blown pow. It would have been better to ditch the cat and hike into the backcountry off the pass.
I also thought the guides were super-conservative. Well, they have to be, I suppose, but on one trip it we had three telemarking guides who flailed while all of us Alpine skiers on fatties blew by them. Kinda lame IMO. We had a private cat that day, and a very fast group.
I will say, tho, that I had a killer in-bounds pow day there that was pretty memorable, just because it was just me and 2 friends and hardly any other skiers. Like a private ski area.
