Monarch Mountain?

I'm looking at heading out west with some friends later this winter and a guy who came into the shop I work out was telling me about Monarch Mountain. I looked into it and it looks like a pretty nice place, and that crowds would be pretty low.

Do any of you ski Monarch regularly? Have you skied there before if you don't? What's your opinion?
 
I have some friends who ski backcountry around monarch a lot, they seem to like it. Ive skiied the mountain once on a pow day, it was fun.
 
small little ski area, not a resort. Fun for a day but not a whole vacation comming all the way to Colorado.
 
I love to ski pow there, however their park is always a joke. Friendly group of employees and a super mellow vibe the whole time. Mirkwood basin off of breezeway lift is always worth the hike. If you check it out everything under garfield lift is always good. I wouldn't recommend spending more than a couple days there, though, unless they are getting dumped on. You can pretty much ski most of the mountain in one day.

A local secret is the trees to the right of upper christmas tree, super steep lines and always good snow, if you take that across the cat track at the bottom of upper christmas tree you'll run into some really fun cliff lines.
