Momentum or camp of champions?

Turpin coaches fulltime at Momentum now, I think he only did that week for COC a couple of summers ago when High North ended early.

Here's what I got in an email from Julia Smart, the office manager from momentum:

Dear Ian and Kathy

It

is with great regret that I have to write to you to let you know that

Whistler/Blackcomb have recently decided to postpone the opening of the

summer skiing, which means we are not able to operate our 1st session

as planned this year. The tough economic times and drop in visitors to

the resort this winter has meant that they have unexpectedly had to cut

back on their summer operation costs.

As

you can imagine we are very disappointed with this decision, but our

hands are tied. Is there any way you could attend session 2, 3 or 4

instead this summer? Let us know if that is possible and whether you

have already made flight arrangements.

Best wishes

Julia

Ive been going to camp the past 3 summers and I know Julia and shes not the type of person to lie about stuff so im assuming what she told me is true. I know that COC usually starts a bit later than momentum so it probly didn't affect them, but it definitely pushes back the start for momentum

You know here's one point to add for the parents out there...

"Should you need medical attention you can be

reassured that Whistler, as North America's # 1 Ski resort, offers the very

best emergency care"

Momentum/COC have a great medical facility and evacuation in the case of an injury... not saying either is better, but its something to think about vs. the other camps.

Actually all the camps are exactly the same in that respect, I'm positive. All the Whistler camps, like the Dave Murray camp, COC, Momentum, etc., use the exact same medical clinic if someone is injured, because there's only one medical clinic. The camps aren't the ones providing the evacuation from the mountain, it's the Whistler Blackcomb Company, so all camps use the exact same evacuation methods as well.
