Moment/surface WHICH ONE

I'm 14 years old five foot eight and a hundred forty five pounds and im looking for a park ski that is good switch and is light, poppy and fairly stiff for jumping but still soft enough to butter around on . I like rauils too so ittl have to be able to take a beating or have a good warranty.

the two skis i am trying to choose between are the

Surface watch lifes

and the Moment reno jibs

watchlifes, one of the most fun skis i ever owned. you can take em anywhere from icy groomers, in the park, or deep powder days. im sure you could find a pair of last years 173cm on ns for under $200

iv seen all moment skis in perso and they were so so sick. they were light but i forget how flexy. i also have seen the watch lifes in person and they are heavier and not as cool.
im sue both companys have super legit warrenties.

id say for mostly park get the jibs but for alot of park and then some actual skiing get the watch lifes

i have the jibs and they are amazing both outside and inside the park... they have the fastest ski base that you can get( if that makes no sense, it means that moment buys the fastest base material and uses it in their skis, unlike for example the line invaders have a cheap base and go slow...), they are extremely light and fun. i love their flex, its a moderate flex and is super poppy.

i would also recommend the moment planks if they ever come out this season because they will be a lot like the jibs but also they will be a better size for you being at either 176 or 178( i forget which one exactly). they also have an early taper which will be great for powder.

i dont know a lot about surface skis but they also seem legit.

Moments warranty is absolutely amazing.

thanks for all the replies +k i have ridden the watchlifes very briefly and they were fun but im leaning twoards the reno jibs.

homie of mine just got the jibs! they're pretty dope, light, definitely poppy, and so far pretty durable. But he's like 6' 4" and 190lbs and he thinks they're stiff as shit. Since your not that big of a dude, I don't think those are the skis you're looking for.

watch lifes look sick, base graphic looks dank, and they're definitely light, poppy, and still legit enough to slay rails and jumps. I dunno man if it were me I'd go with a pair of trouble makers from a few seasons back if you can find em. but as for the moment/surafce debate... I know moments are hella stiff and prolly not what your after.

i teetered back and forth all summer between the rubies and the live lifes for my new all-mountain pow day ski...finally decided to get the rubies and they are super super dank, so id say go with the moments.

I am going to say go with the moments. they are super sick. being able to butter is a minor part of skiing and people can still mess around on stiff skis. or you could consider reno rockers considering your height and weight. and if your comfortable with a longer ski. They are the dopest skis i have ever seen in person. the graphic and the construction.

go with moment

Like this guy said ^ you could also go Reno Rockers. I'm 5'8 140 and only have a couple days on them but first impressions are amazing. This is my second year on Moments and they truly are a great company, both in quality and customer service. I don't know anything about Surface you definitely cannot go wrong with Moment.

^do they jump well?kus a kid i knowrides for moment and says that they areworse than the reno jibs for jumping and are only good for little stuff and butters.

watch lifes are seriously the most fun ski ever! they are super super light......you would love them...but i have heard moments are amazing too

Watch Life is by far the best park/all mountain ski I have ridden. I would definitely suggest it for what your looking for. It slays in the park and can still handle anything else your mountain has to offer. When Utah got hit by that big storm a month ago I got a chance to shred pow/crud on them and they did everything I asked. As for park they slay super light and poppy and slay rails/boxes and can butter like no ones business. Overall a great ski and Surfaces warranty is one of the best in the business!

there is plenty of surface skis that go to stores that I would not call production quality. There are some skis that honestly should never have left the factory. I know I will be pissing alot of people off when I say that but it is true.

If there is something wrong with a moment ski it is not sold on the shelf. and if they do find out something is wrong they make a 100% recal on the product re:Bibbys/Donnor Parties.

I know the standards that are upheld in the moment factory and they are insane. Since Surface contracts the production of their skis to other factories they are not able to be there when the product is being made and uphold standards. No hate on the Surface guys, it is just out of their hands in a way. But overall the quality of moment skis is higher then that of surface skis.

Both companies have great people working for them though so there should be no customer service problems with either company.

i have surface watch lifes. i love them. never ridden moments or seen them in person so i can't comment. i probably won't ride moments because i associate their skis with newschooler kids because they jerk them off all the time and that would probably ruin my skiing experience.

truth.
