Moment reno jibs

so i'm pretty sure i'm gonna get the jibs in 156. i'm 12yrs old, 5'1 and 90lbs. I ski about 70% park and 30

% carving and tree skiing. i mainly do jumps but want to get good on rails to. I would like a soft, poppy and light ski that can still do well on groomers. do you think this would be a good size and a good ski for me and could you give me some more info on them? THANKS!

i have last years and if your looking for a really soft ski its not these, yes there playfull and it taks a descent abmount of time for them to break in, but there no trusters and walls or invaders if your looking for that level of flex, i herd they changed them a little this year making them softer though

Wow did you just compare the flexes of Walls, Thrusters, and Invaders? I am basically speechless because Invaders are almost as soft as you can get, Walls are basically as stiff as you can get, and Thrusters are right in the middle. I do not think you know what you are talking about.

ive riden invaders for years, most playful ski ever, also had 2 pair of thrusters not as soft but still pretty soft, my brother has walls which ive riden more times than i can count stiffest out of the three (Not by much though, still pretty soft) the skis i ride now 171 reno jibs with z12's stiffest out of all 4 skis i have ridden the most...so i do think i know what im talking about

i've ridden all three aswell and i'd agree with you.. invaders are noodles, but thrusters are pretty soft too, and the older versions quickly became almost invader soft.. and the 09 Wall is much flexier than the 08.. not such a stiff ski either.. I wouldn't say as soft as the other two, but definitely softer than the Reno Jib..
To the OP, the Jib is a great ski for 70/30.. Holds a great edge on piste (as long as you don't detune the edges (that was my mistake)) and kills it in the park. On the stiff side for butters but ok other than that.

yuo probably won't be able to butter at first but once you break them in a bit with some hard jump landings they get to be a medium hard flex and you should be able too

When you are picking new sticks, its always a matter of compromise, no ski is perfect for everything. You said your priority number one is jumps, and the Jib is one of the best if not the best jump ski out there. Its also good on rails and great on groomers due to its fast base and medium sidecut. The 2009 Jib is a stiff ski, and it is possible but I found it difficult to butter on them. It takes a load more effort than on say an Invader or Reno Rocker. The 2010 Jib is rumoured to be a little softer and so may make this easier but I don't know about that. Basically though, the better your ski is for Jumps and Groomers, the more difficult it will be to butter (if it isn't rockered). If ability to butter is really high up your priorites then maybe get a softer ski, you will be able to butter the Jib after a while and with practice, but it will be more difficult. Since you basically seem to want a jump ski that is good on groomers, there is no better ski out there.

i have 171 jibs im about 5'9 and about 170 and it take some efffort to butter these skis, there not stiff its just sort of a weird flex pattern well maybe not haha, all i know is there was a huge break in period about 10-15 (50-75) hours, days of a lot and pretty hard riding to make the buttering a little easer, if your looking for a ski that can butter but has a little bit bigger waist maybe anthems, even though u wanted a little bit stiffer skis for jumps, dont let us scare you off moment make great skis, and my jibs are awesom,

dude no matter what you ski you get it will do what you want. the jibs are softer this year. buttering is something that skis affect but ITS YOU, i am a tiny person 5'8 130 lbs i could butter the 181 jibs they were stiff as balls but if you know how to put pressure over your toes you can butter a 2x4. the jibs are an awesome ski. i am sure the a bangs will be as well. so do what you want the jibs will be fine as will any ski really

2010 jibs- just around 8.5lbs in(181 I am pretty sure). Just lighter than 09s. Really low swing weight though which is more important, and remember there is such thing as too light(these aren't there, just saying).
