Moment Jib

This is bullshit..every ski can break if you do stupid crazy things with it, land wrong, try to hit a pillow uphill etc..

Moment skis are very durable, way more than Salomon etc..and thats not just my opion, you'll find that out when you do some more searching and reading reviews..

or is my meter broken? :S since in your profile it says you still have them and they are your profile pic..

no they really arent that durable, and its kind of a known fact. many many people have had problems with them. Not just me. Yes i did have moments. Yes they broke within 4 months of skiing on them.

I can tell you that the person who says the skis aren't durable do not know what they are talking about. I have the 2009 Reno jibs. I bought them from my friend who used them like Any other park ski. They are still going strong. We put 2 screws in the bases earlier due to an edge peeling out, but that is from 3 hard years of skiing. They still have A LOT of pop and only 2-4 edge cracks total. I love them. Super light, poppy, fairly stiff but still butterable, super fun ski. Amazingly stable on jumps and really fun on rails. I have 2 other friends who have last years jibs and they are not disappointed by them either. Amazing ski, and I think you will love it.

You seem to pop up in every moment thread, most of which are otherwise full of positive reviews.

What actually happened to your skis? Did they upset you in the way they handled your warranty or something?

For what its worth, my experience was that moment have super good service and were amazingly helpful with warranty to me. Even replaced my skis for a fault that had nothing to do with them!

i had a problem that i broke my skis half way through the season, so they took them back to fix them. it took them 6 weeks to fix and when i got them back the broke the first day. Also i have a problem that 3 other people i know have had pairs of moments break. I think they make absolutely terrible quality skis

To the op, there is always going to be people who have negative things to say and who say terrible things about companies. But put those people against those who have nothing but good things to say about the product. Chances are, the positive greatly outweighs the negative.

Something to think about.

my sister has a pair of moment night trains and she rides them every day through the season hitting rocks and other shit. they are still going super well the only thing is the top sheet but that is only cosmetic. these people that say that they had terrible experiences with moment that is mostly due to the fact that if you constantly ride a ski in the park you are getting impact from landing kickers and landing on rails. It will happen to other companies as well if you beat your skis. If you land awkward. If you dont get on the rail just right you will fuck up your skis and maybe your legs. moment is pretty knowledgeable they are legit

I rode the 09 reno jibs last season and they were the best ski I've skied. (havnt gotten to use my halos enough to say whether they are better or not). The only durability issue i can think of is the topsheets chip like a motherfucker. but if you dont care if your skis look pretty or not go for it, they are soft symetrical park skis and ride great.

That doesn't sound like bad service to me, they took the skis back and tried to fix them.

I'm guessing here, but you ski must park a decent amount since you went to windells. That probably means your friends do to. When you hit rails and big jumps, if you land wrong, skis break. Under what circumstances and how did you break the skis? I mean for example if you blew an edge on a rail and they tried to fix it and then you blew the edge again, how is that moments fault?

Im not saying they are bad skis. i loved them, im just not impressed with their quality and im letting the op no. i never said they had bad customer service. Here in reno they are kind of known for having their skis break and replacing them because it happens so much. Im just trying to give my personal experience with them to help out the op

I live in the Tahoe area and every is raving about quality there. How many moments do you know that broke? Other than kids thrashing them in the park stomping them on rails and being stupid?

MOMENT hand makes every pair of skis that comes out of their factory.

That is not the case for many other industry manufacturers (K2, salomon, etc)

So you've had "problems" with your skis. if you're going to try and help out the OP.....then why don't you explain exactly what happened with your skis....what caused them to break, how exactly, and what were you doing when you broke them the second time.

Without that info, your comments are pretty useless

Ask people at resorts what they think. Ask what people on NS think.

^^this. Well said sir. With no further info on how your skis broke and what you were doing, your comment is fairly useless.
