How is it overhyped? It's by far the most complex, open world game rockstar has ever made... pretty huge achievement in games IMO

They went all in on the immersion but failed on the gameplay. Looting a body or skining a deer is just tedious after the 100th time. The whole shaving, bathing, upgrading camp, eating food is just utterly pointless. There is little to no benefit of doing it. Missions are 1 dimensional, they are about the same as in the first Red Dead. Sometimes you can shoot a gun out of someones hand, sometimes you can't. Covering your face stops you from getting a bounty half of the time, but you

inexplicably get a bounty despite wearing a mask sometimes.

I'm still having fun but this game isn't a 10/10 or a 9/10 like some people say it is.

My roommate was super into gta5 and has been playing rdr2 constantly. I personally haven't played it much, but I watch him play it for awhile when he first got it. The map is huge, 2-3 times bigger than gta5, maybe even bigger? I'm just guessing.

Fuck I just have some of the best memories playing 4 person splitscreen on reach with the boys. Such a good time, I miss that honestly.

Yea campaign was a lot of fun just wasn't a fan of the online play I found the shield made guys just way too hard too kill. Like guys would just be standing still shooting each other because the shield would last so long.

Well rockstar isnt the only open world game developer, they were lowkey kind of comparing it to the complexity of the witcher 3, and the likes. I dont think it was at all but still fun.

also i bought the new cod, im having fun, for some reason, cant explain it.

The Witcher 3 is an awesome game with so many options, like playing gwent and other stuff, and there are so many quests to play. Also, blood and wine and heart of stone were great, especially heart of stone.
 
I've been playing CODBO4 Blackout for the last month are so. I only enjoy this one when i'm playing with friends in quads.

I was torn between BFV and RDR2, but based on what I've read here I think i'm going with BFV. I got so addicted to GTA V for like 5-7 months after it came out and I just don't wanna go down that road again with RDR2.

Tell me about it. Best buy sent me a steel case with no game the other day. I got punked so hard. Apparently they prioritize that over the real thing. I would have bought the downloadable version but it was a gift so I can't really complain.

Apex legends might just be the best game I've played in a long time. Initially it felt a bit too bullet spongy coming from games like counterstrike, rainbow 6, tf2 and arma but I've gotten used to it. I hope it dies just before I have finals so I can actually be productive.
 
I just dont have enough time nearly as I did or motivation to seriously grind it out but The Divison 2 is pretty fucking great, Love the RPG elements in a shooter like that, The Division was a really great game after they got all the kinks worked out and the Darkzone is some of the most intense online gaming around imo. Edge of your seat action.

On the topic of Ubisoft games, I played Ghost Recon Wildlands a buch, Loved it, and cannot wait for Breakpoint to come out in October.

Oh and of course The Last of Us II.

Also theres that fucking sweet samurai game thats coming out next year that looks just purely incredible

One of my favorite games man....and from what I heard they fixed all my issues with it. Map size etc. Might be the first game I'll ever pre order

It's dumber than shit but so fun and worth the 12 dollars or whatever it is to buy it. Definitely wanna play it with friends tho like the other guy said. I could see it being monotonous played solo. The physics kept me laughing throughout and my mom calls it the puffy baby game. Dunno how that last bit sways your opinion, but it's an accurate assessment. I'd give it 7/10

Really weird to say I don't really like video games at the moment. They only seem like an average way to waste time between doing fun stuff. I should just do fun stuff more.
