Molly's Game Netflix

Netflix just released Molly's Game. Watch the first 10 minutes for some bump skiing action. They get a few things wrong, she calls a backflip a D spin and blames a pine bough for her pivots releasing early. Still cool for see freestyle skiing in a Hollywood movie. Did not realize she is Jeremy Bloom's sister.

I saw this movie a few years back.

My question, for anyone that’s live in PC a while - did she have anything to do with the old Molly Blooms bar/restaurant in Kimble? The one that got shut down a few years back for getting popped with Male strippers or some shit for a party?

I coached her for a couple of years here at the SSWSC, cool chick, but i think Hollywood embellished her mogul skiing accomplishments slightly.

Definitely texted a few friends while I was watching the movie, and demanded they watch at least the first 10 minutes. Just wanted to see if they noticed and had the same reaction to the narration during that run. They all did.

Overall, not a bad film.

Maybe...never gave it much thought, I do know that place is kinda greasy and theyve gotten shut down multiple times for serving minors booze and other dumb greasy shit

Just watched it yesterday and for a mainstream film did a pretty good job. It captured the feeling and intensity of competition even if it wasn't totally accurate. The Sorkin voiceover was delivered with speed and confidence so you wouldn't really notice the wrong trick call or that she says mogul slopes are 51 degrees when they are actually 51%.

Are they really 51%? A 100% grade is 45° and mogul courses definitely seem steeper than half that.

51% grade is 27* which sounds about right. 45* is very steep.

Yeah i definitely know they arent as steep as 45. 27 is less than the take off of most kickers which seem shallower than mogul courses. Idk Im probably wrong

Am I trippin or is there no way in hell a pine bough, frozen into the snow or not, is causing a prerelease on a 15 din binding?

I ski on like a 10 and just about the only time I’ve thrown a shoe when “nothing happens” is when I’ve got a bunch of snow on my boot/binding.

i know weird stuff can happen, but I’m not sure about this one y’all.
