Molding dalbello liners at home

I tried to search and did not find anything..

Anyways I just got some 07/08 Dalbello krypton Rampages(molded once before I believe)and I was wondering if I could mold them at home?....I've molded footbeds before and have heard how you can kinda do It with a blow dryer on the warmest setting but I'm guessing it does not mold very good this way

just looking for some advice on what to do... i bet most of you will tell me to the go to a shop just seeing if I can save myself the inconvenience and do it at my home

thanks

and I know this belongs in gear talk, but I wanted to get some more answers since that forum seems to be dead now

this winter i bought dalbello krypton crosses with intuition liners. The shop's boot molder was broken so they stuck the liners in an oven which made me a bit worried, but worked out perfectly. i'm sayn to put your liners in he oven but definitely go to a local shop and have them molded.

ill try to give a response considering no one else knows the answer.. i have dalbello krypton il moros (love them) and i got mine heat fitted at shop.. basically you can go to shop and they will do it BUT you should still search videos online (youtube) and see how to heat fit boots because alot of times shops dont know what they are doing and just have the equipment to do the heating but dont know how to heat it haha
basically search videos and prepare yourself before you go in to the shop.. or look for videos online that can show you how to heat the liners at home...
hope i was helpful in some way

ya I go to colorado ski shop like you ...do they know much about dalbello? id imagine they are similiar to molding FT's which they prob do a ton

thanks for the advice though k+

Pre heat oven to 250Put down a big piece of tin foil on the center rack (make sure you got plenty of room in the oven)Put liner on the tin foil and heat it for 10 minsPull out liner carefully, don't let it touch the racks or the heating elementStuff liner into bootPut foot into bootBuckle boot medium tightKeep boot on for 15 minsrepeat with other liner
I'd do this with a pretty thin sock on. good luck

This is about right. But I'd add that before bucking down the boots modium tight, first kick your heel down hard to push the heel back to form a heel pocket. Then buckle.

Also, stand with your toes elevated on a 2x4 after you buckle up. This continues the heel pocket process which is pretty handy when skiing...

Bestest of luckies!

Dont forget to use something as a toe cap otherwise you will crush your toes, this way during the mould it will be tight and then you will have room post mould. Also depending on how tight you want the fit to be do the opposite during the mould, ie buckle tight to then have a loose fit.
