no way bro, you need some serious hand to eye to dominate halo. Just like being a fighter pilot or shooting a real gun... well maybe not just like a fighter pilot but skill is needed.

Also how frustrating is it to play video game with someone who sucks dick? You need to gaming skills to live in this world!

And I dont know where you got your definition of being a real man although I do dominate beer, but killing things is not very tight. I shot a wood pecker once and felt bad for like 3 weeks, fuck I still feel bad. Poor woodpecker.

videogame skillz are needed... maybe not being as good as one of those guys who plays CounterStrike and pwns noobs like crazy or someone who is amazing at Madden or whatever other game making it impossible for you to win... but being a solid gamer is definately a necessity...

playing videogames with people who are complete noobs is really frustrating.
 
yeah i fucking hate it when you're playing cod4 and someone throws a grenade into a room and there's some noob with a sniper camping in the doorway making it so you can't get out and you both end up dying. or that one spot in countdown where you spawn behind the crates and people decide to camp right there and nobody else can get out and they don't understand that when you knife them it means "gtfo" so they just sit there, someone lobs a grenade into the spawn and kills like 5 guys
 
i hate it when they hype up a new map pack and then all the maps end up being a total pieces of shit, like creek.
 
alright, i'll agree with you that some games do take some skill, but i'd say if you've mastered 1 shooter well, you can pretty much get the hang of any others quickly. And i don't think it's hand/eye. I think its more the timing between them. I know theres some word for this type of situation, when you see something on a screen and need to time it between your eyes/hand, but it's not hand eye. (that would be more like catching a ball by the common definition)

It is frustrating as fuck to play with someone who sucks, but i guess everyone has to start somewhere. As for the kids on cod who are at the highest level and still go like 2-18 consistently...well....fail.

ha, and i was just joking, doing a trumped up "manly man" definition. I'd feel awful about killing something too.
 
gun technology has definitely changed drastically in the past 30 years. 30 years ago guns were way whack. 30 years ago rail systems for guns werent invented. these days, you can add whatever the fuck onto your gun. foregrips, flashlights, PEQ boxes to laze targets via infrared for airstrikes, etc. red dot sights were not invented 30 years ago. if anyone has ever used a real red dot sight, you know that the way you use it is to line it up with 1 eye, but you keep both eyes open. it seems like it is normal vision, but there is a red dot in your view. the reason red dots are so good is that if you just had a piece of glass with a dot painted on it you can look through it at an angle and still put it on an enemy but your gun wont shoot there. with a red dot a laser lazes the glass and it moves along with the angle you look through it, so no matter what angle you look through the sight if its on the enemy your gun will shoot the enemy

also

m16 is not too powerful. its just where it should be. the other assault rifles are too weak compared to the submachine guns. the submachine guns use 9mm rounds. those are dinky weak ass pistol rounds. the m16 shoots a 5.56mm bullet. its small, but if youve seen a 556 round the casing is huge. it goes fast

I was stoked until I figured out its not coming out till November or some shit. I will be living with the girl friend then my life is basically over FML.

The only reason i like Halo 3 better than CoD 4 right now is because i was trying to play system link the other day, and it turns out you can only have one person per console for system link, which meant some severely poopy dick for my friends and i.

other than that, CoD4 pwns n00bz
 
i'll have to disagree on that.

I played call of duty since it was released (MW) and I'm good at it, not going to lie...and I always hated halo i thought it was the gayest game ever...then i moved to college, met a guy who was a freak at the game and he got me into it and i started playing that all the time, and i will say that halo takes WAYYYYY more skill than any call of duty game.

And with your, you've played em once you can play em all thing....I went to play CoD4 the other day...and couldn't do shit because its so entirely different from halo. They all operate on different engines which makes some people better at one game than the other...or some people like stated earlier in the threads suck all the time...the stupid ass n00bs.who run behind you towards the enemy on district and shoot the n00b tube at the car infront of you trying to lob it all the way down the street and blow you the fuck up.
 
1. CoD4 is not the first CoD game. dont go calling people noobs when you just started playing it now.

2. Granted the newer CoD games take less skill than the older ones on PC, however, they are all different games and each requires its own skill set.

3. Halo is more reflex based and quick run and gun stuff, whereas CoD is a bit slower paced and more tactical. However, you cant say that the best Halo player is better than the best CoD player... its like comparing the michael phelps to kobe bryant.

4. Modern Warfare/CoD5 kinda pissed me off a bit because they made it so noob friendly... theres hardly any recoil on any of the guns... whereas in the older CoD games each gun was much harder to use and only a very good player could get the most out of it. now any old noob can grab an m16 and pwn people.

on an unrelated note... that trailer looks completly fucking epic and i just jizzed everywhere.
 
dude no way. more reflex based? cod is the one thats simple and reflex based. you see someone and either you spray them in the back, or if they see you too its a race to see who can aim faster. in halo, someone could start shooting you and you could still own them with a well placed nade or any of a number of other ways to kill someone. there are so many more ways to kill someone and you have to do so many more decisions/calculations in halo than cod. and this is coming from someone who plays cod all the time, i love the game and all but to say halo takes less tactics/skills is complete bullshit.

I agree to an extent when it comes to CoD4 and all the other console versions.. however, i did play CoD and CoD2 competitively (im such a nerd) and i must say i disagree.

Its a lot slower paced than halo and the way you plan things out are important. sure its more reflex i guess simply because you can get a lot more 1 hit kills and whatnot (well, only with headshots, but the guns kill people more easily in CoD than Halo regardless)... anyways... i've played a lot of SD in CoD and it turns into a chess match more than anything. obviously having dope reflexes and being able to pop headshots from across the map without looking is key, but it is still very tactical... and im pretty sure you can nade someone in CoD???

If you watch a proper SD match in CoD, youll find that everyone is using cover a lot more and taking their time... its a lot more planning involved... you rarely see someone pop out of cover for more than a second without getting shot... its a mixture between crazy reflexes and good tactics...

Plus the fact that you can use ironsights/lean around corners and all that sh*t in CoD also makes the game a bit slower.... its a lot less spray and pray when you play it properly than Halo is.
 
you have no idea what youre talking about. cod is the most reflex based game ever. it takes like 3 hits to kill somebody, while in halo it takes much longer with shields and whatnot. it takes 4 BR bursts, all 12 bullets hitting the target, the last bullet in the head to kill somebody. a 5 burst kill is considered very good. a halo player with terrible reflexes but incredible aim can destroy a well reflexed person any day. halo is not run n gun at all. you have it completely backwards. cod is all about the run n gun, shooting people real fast and sneaking around. what it takes to win at halo is teamwork. thats where halo and cod are the most different. i like to think of it like cod being baseball and halo being football. in halo, if 2 guys 2 on 1 1 guy, the 1 guy has no shot. the 2 guys work together at the same time to kill 1 dude. in cod, everyone sorta does their own thing and in the end all their scores are added up. like in baseball, one person bats at a time and it all adds up. but in football everyones doing everything simultaneously
