i heard with a modded xbox u could burn games too, but i mayy be wrong

Ok you dont actually need to buy a mod chip to 'mod' the xbox. once it is completed (the way my friends have done it) you are able to copy the games right to the hard drive, so you dont need the cd/dvd so you rent a game then you have it. it just requires some soldering.

i have one, its well worth it. you can get solderless modchips. www.xbox-scene.com cmu is right, u can play stuff off the hdd

 
^but there are ways to do it without even buying an actual mod chip just a couple soldering points.

you can actually swap out the 10 gig hard drive in the xbox, solder in a chip, copy the 10 gig images to another hard drive (i.e. a 300 gig or even a 120), then just rip the games right off the cd onto the hard drive and run them from the hard drive...including dvd movies, etc. games load 100 times faster. a friend of mine did it to 2 of them so far, i know how to do it...not that hard...so he basically 'backs up' all of his games onto the hard drive and plays them off there. doesn't get much better.

i have a 60 gig hdd in it, loaded with games, movies, and mp3's. i could mod it for u for a fee, or you can buy a premod online. www.systemmods.com i think

 
I put a window and some ccds in one for a friend...

I also put linux, a bigger hdd and water cooling in it. He wanted to overclock it i guess, don't know if he was successful or how much he paid for it all...

it comes both solderless and solder, can be installed by a 10 year old so why not just solder and have some fun. it takes a few hours if your sober it took me 12 fucking wasted and smoking but we were watchin movies and having fun.

it work first try except for a lose connect that we knew was loose.

once it is installed you can insert a bigger HDD of choice, i have an 80GB currently wish i would have gotten a 160. you then flash the bios on the new HDD and load your applications from a computer.

once you get the apps on it will boot up like a computer desktop with menus. this is displayed like xbox360 and where they got the idea from on the new xbox.

it has games, apps, setting, network, restart, shurdown... in the main menu. you can then go to games and select the games you have burned to the HDD.

in the apps section it has all the apps you installed... dvd2xbox, xbox media center and a few others.

you can burn games with dvd2xbox, you can also bur ANY movie. it will be saved to the HDD.

the xbox media center allows you to play music, pictures, videos. you can play ANY media form with the xbox. once you burn a video you can play each .vob file and watch it flawless.

you can also set up the network to allow you to stream media, mp3...avi...divx what have you, from a computer. so you dont actually have to keep movies o the box.

use ftp client to transfer data to your computer to get more space for games on your box.

and their you have it, 100x better than PS2 modding and exactly what xbox 360 will be like.

ummm might be links from the executer site but you can just search for "modded xbox applications" and you will find them

the main ones you want are

dvd2xbox - which burns dvd's

xbox media center - plays media of course

umm i think the bios flash is on the site too, just look around at the instructions man... i never asked anyone shit i read the directions and it worked flawless. they dont just give you a chip and expect you to know everything. the bios flash is provided off a link on the team-executer site im almost positive

Well worth the effort i might add.. especially with a 120 gig hd. Every game i've transferred has worked. Xbox media centre allows you to listen to internet radio too, it's a pretty complete package.

 
My friend has one, I believe it's called Avalanche.

You can copy games, films etc. onto the harddrive.

You can also play any type of game you want; either its and xbox game, playstatioen, PC, Mac or whatever else that has cd's....

^ahhh yes that was another menu... emulators. you can play snes, nintendo, atari, nintendo 64, pc, sega, sega saturn, playstation, ps2 games all you want

I don't think there is a ps2 emulator for the xbox.. if there is .. I would doubt it's stability and its abilities.
