Mobile ns

I'd just like to point out a few things about the mobile version of ns.

1. Karma points on comments. You can give karma on threads, photos and videos but not comments

2. Embed videos don't fit the threads. They stick out over the white area and make the posts small so you have to zoom in on all the posts

3. Embeding and pics in comments. None of the post features (hyperlink, embed, pics, bold text etc) are availabe in mobile ns

4. Quoting a part of a comment. I've seen some people do this but I haven't figured this out on my mobile, maybe I just don't know how this works

If this could be fixed in the future I'd be very happy since I only use my mobile for browsing the internet

I'd like to add that I really appreciate the fact that you actually have a mobile NS, and that most of it works just fine (or even better than the regular NS).

You can post pictures on mobile. I do it almost every day and it's super easy. If you're really lazy and don't want to learn just get an imgur or a photobucket and it give's you the embed code. as for everything else. They know and they will be updating it slowly.

Yeah we actually have a massive forum mobile upgrade coming, but its been on hold with all the backend changes we have had to do with this surge in traffic around the Olympics.

It will start to address these issues, and give us a much more stable platform to build off of.

Don't get TOO excited. The forum code mostly hasn't been touched since it was written in the back of my dad's '87 oldsmobile driving between the US Open and SIA in 2005. Paul has always wanted to do a massive re-write of the engine that powers the forums, and that time is now.

The first stage if all goes well will be barely noticeable. We don't want to fuck with any of the core functionality that people like so much, but it will give us a solid platform to build off of. The current mobile site is a completely separate site that totally sucks to maintain. As such, it doesn't get the new functionality that comes down the pipes. This new one will.
