Minimum ski length

I'm looking for some new park skis, but I'm 6'2" and most of the ones I want only go to the lower 180s. I don't know if I should go with the exact ski I want but kinda short or go longer and compromise on the ski.

The only park skis I've had so far are 2019 Faction Prodigy 2.0s in 178. The length is no problem in the park but they're unstable for the rest of the hill. They're from before they changed them (softer than average, medium rocker, and really light) so I don't know if that's because of the ski or the length.

So basically will I be fine with something like 180-184 or should I play it safe and get 189s

I know this is Newschoolers so anything under 195 is pussy shit for comp jocks, but could I actually get some reason why or why not to get shortish skis

Fellow giant here, long skis just feel way more stable for me. Give me more of a base to pop off of and a larger margin for error when landing backseated or nose heavy off features. I’d imagine ur talking ab the Vs when u say 189. If u do get them I’d say get the plus’s if you’re looking for something more stable. I’m personal on some armadas (184) and they do the trick but I def wouldn’t mind something a smudge longer

Ok more specifically I would be getting Vishnus for the 189s but the Keys which are supposed to be a more average park ski.

The other ones I was looking at were 184 ARVs or Poachers because they're both supposed to be stable and good for carving.

I really want Jets or Edollos but 180 is probably too short (I know they used to make 188 Edollos but I'm not getting some beat six year old ski off Ebay)

I don't ski park, but I prefer long skis because it is easy to get used to the length, and you get massive amounts of stability for your height. You are a much longer lever than a shorter person, so the force you exert over your skis goes up and you need the length to balance it out. I think the Edollo used to come in a 188, and I've been hearing tales that perhaps someone might make longer park/all mountain skis again next year.

I’m 6’3” and I ripped the arv86 184 last season. They worked super well but definitely felt less stable the more sendy I got. Rail game got easier tho for sure. Only thing I’d think about is the rocker on Vishnu’s, I’d go 189 on them if you can

as a 6’2 tall boi as well, I bought some icelantic nomad 95s for next season, supposedly they are very similar to jets, but you can get the nomads in 191… they are realllly light for their size.

Don’t think they would be quite as stiff as the key looks, but I’m expecting noticeably more stability on jumps than say a wet or blend.

It seems like everyone that’s ridden them, thinks they’re a really good ski!
